A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 24

What a game. NT embarrassing themselves though. I think pride round is marketing BS and stupid but how petulant not supporting a team because of it. The players didn’t chose it. If they are about no politics in sport I look forward to them no burning their Palestine banners or not going to the Anzac round (or Australia Day one for that)
Needs to be more of this.

Boycott the whole round.

You have spent the last year defending fans at a football match (in Australia no less) chanting ‘for the home, ready’ but you’re an advocate for no politics in sport? Can you not for a millisecond just recognise the utter hypocrisy here.

I agree we should not have politics in sport. But that’s everything, not just the ones you like or don’t like.

Form my recollection you have said no politics in sport in the past, but if you are saying just the right ones (in your view) then fair enough at least you admit it.

But you have probably been watching Aussie rules all your life, with teams like St Kilda who've won it once in over 150 years.
Yes and no, AFL has NEVER had a competition that even pretends to be about sporting merit. its always been about prime time TV and before TV, attendances and sponsorship money ... Its like WWE, nobody gives a shit who wins or loses in the long run, as long as they see a bit of blood and get pissed...

A league needs $$$$ Perth and Brisbane need new managers so they can be competitive
Perth have been a shit show all season. I reckon Brisbane isn't as black and white. Don't get me wrong, they have been bad, however defensively they are not that far behind the rest. With a game in hand, they have conceded 5 less goals than Adelaide. The Roar's problems are all in attack (or lack there of). A bit of competence/confidence in the front third and they would be challenging Adelaide and SFC for that 6th spot right now.
Why can't they sack the coach?
They can, but it's expensive to sack a coach with a contract.

yeah imagine that.
A bit like what is happening in a certain country right now, Freedom of speech as long it's the right ones.

How long before they replace Bris Roar with Sth Melb>? Dead end football state that wont have any Olympic football matches in Brisbane except maybe the final game as they have moved group games up north to Caines and Townsville like wtf?

I'm not gonna say much about the behaviour of the NT on Saturday, but I will say that i thought the NT was better without them.

Just catching up with the last round of the AL.

A question for SFC fans. Given Segecic's performances this round and previous rounds, I'm astonished he didn't start in the SFC line up? Is he usually benched?

I have not really evaluated his defensive skills, but in terms of attacking prowess, he is a dangerous player.

Great first half, SFC v City this round!

Superb Johnny Yull goal!

Receives executing a La Croqueta, fast inside right of the foot to inside left foot transfer of the ball, then a superb left foot shot into the corner from range!

he is indeed in and out of the starting line up despite being one of the best players in the league! Born 2004 and banging in the goals and assists though

I'm not sure if it is Segecic's lack of defensive discipline, or, lax positional play, but he has some phenomenal attacking prowess ATM, and is a quality technician on the ball - dribbling, first touch and shooting.

I'd like to hear Talay's rationale for benching him?
