The Ange at Tottenham Thread

If they rock up next season with Bissouma, Sarr, Bentacour etc as midfield options i'd be surprised if they reach this seasons point tally.

Ange overestimated the talent of the squad.

Maybe he didn't. He's not going to tell the public. All he could do was work with what he had.

Has to be said, they are a squad of second-tier players. Solanke is a good example. In which of the top 6 clubs would he get a game? Same with Brennan Johnson. They just don't have that edge that makes a top player. Kulusevksi - watched him try to chase back a Liverppool player running with the ball and his lack of pace was so painfully obvious. He actually gave up, which is unforgivable, because he then let the Liverpool man run at full pace at the backpedalling Spurs defence.

The question is, could Ange have done better with them? I think yes - other managers have done better with similarly limited resources. When I watch Spurs, I see a team that has stopped playing for the manager, and that is why he has to go.

I agree with pretty much everything...until you say the team have stopped playing for him. I just don't see any evidence of that. Quite the opposite really.

yep on top of that as a player looking ahead playing for their future no matter what happens to a gaffa.

I saw absolutely no belief in the Spurs team facing Liverpool. Sure, it was Liverpool, and its a personal view, but I'm not seeing a connection between the players and the gaffer.

I get where you coming from FS but........
I don't think many would have come out of Anfield looking much better after that game.
That was walking into a storm for even arsenal - I don't rate them like others do but don't think they would have come out looking rosy as well.
Do you expect seeing passion between the players and Ange ? I'd say it would look similar for many of the other teams that day.
I see what your saying also with Amorin/United who are just 2 points above and they have spent a motza. Bruno and ol lurch McGoo are the only ones showing spunk but I see not much luv with amorin/player as well.
Throw in the hammers - worst season in yonks do they have no connection with Potter due their position as well.
9th last season sitting under Spurs.

A fine 3:1 ein with only 42% possession. Bodö with only 3 shots. Annoying late goal conceded but very much in a good position. United won 3:0 in Bilbao and had an extra man after the 2:0 penalty.

If Solanke and Maddison are out i think they're in trouble, Bodo play on an ice skating rink...i see extra time, that late goal was a killer, Spurs should have won this by 5 goals.

At 3-0 the tie was very much in their favour but at 3-1 it becomes a whole lot closer proposition. They'll be kicking themselves for conceding, and not being able to add 1 or 2 more such was their statistical superiority.

Forecast is 7 and sunny next week in Bodö. Can always change but pitch should be right.

At least there's no away goals rule anymore

very unconvincing. a 2 goal lead is nothing going to the toughest away trip in Europe.

I mean.. a 2 goal lead is a 2 goal lead, not nothing. I'll let the Germans know they should have gone to extra time in 2002

agree, 2goals up is nothing to "sneeze" at once at Bodo ground haha
Its in their court even park the bus, they got to score 3 and hold off spurs least once or twice not hitting the net - that small ground will be buzzing thats for sure.

Ange's team park the bus?

Should of finished the tie today conceding at the end wasn't good should of been 4 or 5 nil.

Still a bit of work to do.

Reading they play on Astroturf up there. Take the lead of course but it could be nervy. Frankfurt away gives faith.
