Will definitely end up playing for us despite people on here deriding his mention on the basis that "he is Italian" and doesn't want to play for us. Fact is he is miles off being selected for Italy and now that he isn't young anymore he isn't being courted by them or talked up. It's fairly clear that he will never play for Italy.

As for Robinson, I don't understand why he seems to be holding out. Plays for a relegated to third tier club. It's not as if any other nation will come calling for him. For perspective, he's the same age as Jeremy Doku.

I don't mean to discredit the young guy - I'm sure he will have a solid playing career. I just don't understand why people care so much if he plays for us or not. He is clearly not the kind of player who changes an international team by their presence.

From what I've read it has more to do with the fact he wasn't happy about not being given a go under Arnie. Ego bruised and pride maybe?

Popa should talk to him directly, get to know how he feels because as mentioned by others but maybe he’s ego and pride has been bruised like any sporting athlete would be in that situation, so a face to face conversation might be worth exploring and maybe he would feel less alienated by the prospect of playing with us again if someone makes the effort to talk to him properly.

I feel the dreaded email or what’s app text is not much effort when trying to convince someone.
