No point promoting the site if you don't ban/delete all troll/multi posts and accounts. You'll never retain your 'organic' members who sustain the community.

well I guess the critics of the A league complain it is a closed shop, so that's on form :D

Imagine if you permabanned anyone that referred to a league reddit on this forum

Less annoying than the football anarchy trolls.

I'll grant they haven't abused anyone yet, but can their random stuff be moved to off topic. I haven't turned off any notifications yet because the ratio of good quality to anarchy spam is still pretty good, but getting worse...
 
for me googling (from switzerland to be fair which might matter) "green and gold fc" and "green and gold fc forum" does not return this site on the first two pages. Will try again when I head back to the uk

It's not properly indexed yet :(. Hopefully whenever it is, it will bring in some new members

I don’t mind a bit of tasteful trolling but that shit just sucks.

Yeah, doesn't seem to work when spelling properly. But does show up if you go all one word though
 
I think the socials might work well for promotion, especially the soccer twitter.
 
Ideas about recruitment.

*Could we have a section where NPL clubs are invited to post a short article and photo or two about their club? Can we interview club presidents/Tech Dirs/senior coaches? This will initially induce posters from that club to join to respond. Could we have a Q and A session? Hopefully a few might stay.

* Another poster has contacted me off forum suggesting approaching A L club fan forums to join G and G. It seems like a great idea. Who on here posts on their own AL club fan forums?

* In Tas, NPL clubs aren't big enough to have their own fan forums. I'm sure South Melb do. Is there any way we can recruit more of these posters to here? Albeit we probably have had almost saturation of South Melb. We need more fans from other NPL clubs around the country to join G and G.

* This won't result in many new members, but I'm going to PM a few Anarchy Forum posters, who are 'reasonable', but don't post here. They know the format. Lupi and Beretta post here regularly, and might even post here more than there. They criticise G and G there, but in general add different perspectives on G and G. It adds diversity of thought. Haven't posted on Anarchy for years, but might recruit a poster or two.

* Grazor, or Pasquali, could we write an article on Roar, describing the characteristics of G and FC, like podcasts when we have enough money?

* I notice Mike Tuckerman has joined - an Aus football journo/reporter. Can we contact media outlets/journos to advocate G and G?

Must admit since the Fed Election, where I've played an active part, I haven't been here much. Unfortunately, there seems to be a reduction in G and G forum traffic.
