Well if it really upsets South, just chant back banter but don't let it get personal. I don't think there's anything wrong with throwing banter at each other, just don't be immature about it and start fights over stupid stuff, obviously goes for both supporters.

Pretty poor for people to be complaining about chants. Some people are soft and proper communists. Dan Andrews lovers too probably who knows, makes sense.

The fan base needs to grow a pair. The HFC when they showed up had some, the problem was some of them were proper malakas and cause trouble. The vast majority are alright and proper Greek patriots which we are missing.

Preston will come in a few weeks time and will wave their fake flag around chanting rubbish. And the South fans will sit there and cop it - they’ll take over Lakeside and only a few will sing.

Nice to see the Knights board have balls to sack their board. One win and the board are pushing positive pR. We were never really going down but we will cut it thin. We’re lucky that Port, Knights and Altona are in equally fucked predicaments. And that we are lucky to have Lopez.

Hopefully people have the gusto to ask Maikousis questions in a few weeks. I’ll be in Greece sipping a frappe on Milos then and even if I was here no way they let me into Lakeside for that. Members only but only some members hmmm. Especially on the topic of IOU’s. Of course Mike the boards puppet will deny that there are IOUs but if you’re stupid enough to think Andrew, Nick and Bill donated 1-2 million in money to South out of the goodness of their hearts, you’re sick and twisted. They of course won’t show the contacts and paperwork of their contributions to South fans but then again why would they when Mike says all is above board in his eyes.

And for anyone who calls being patriotic towards Greece fascist, you’re part of problem at South.

I feel more sorry for Knights players like Petheriotis and Nicolaidis (who had an excellent game and did his best for their club)

I'll explain, if South supporters directed derogatory ethnic slurs towards them its a guaranteed brawl and riot. Sure they knoe South fans will laugh it off as we have no appetite for it but for me i dont understand why you wouldnt direct your chants at supporting your own club?

If i stood up in that grandstand and called them catholic serbs not only am i leaving in an ambulance, the game is probably going to get called off.

I'd rather the South culture over that crap any day. The only reason i still support South is because it remains above all a football club. If our supporters behaved like that i'd walk away.

The reality is they’ll come to Lakeside with their feathers out because they know South will be too scared to start chanting back. They’ll play their drums and chant their rubbish and the south fans will sit there and groan.

All this oh we don’t want to be seen to do anything to stand up to people. You had Maikousis and his daughter at the Preston game last year walking around policing us South fans making sure nothing went off. Yet they’re scared to show up to Knights, they never make the trip don’t there the suits, sunshine is too dangerous.

After all, we just remember we own their airspace in Skopje.

#2 Why would South fans care about death to Greek chants? Even the ones with Greek ancestry dont even speak the language anymore and the mixed back of ethnicity I see in the terraces every week is NOT Greek - maybe you should try coming to game in person every now and then... its NOT 1994 anymore. Which "boys" are you expecting to "take care of them"????

#3 attendance is low, maybe because its the same old boring go nowhere NPL we have been stuck in for the past 20 years without a glimmer of hope of promotion AND we are playing garbage against state league teams who are doing better than us? Its not rocket science.

Just bc i cant tell others what to chant, identify etc etc doesnt mean i need to tolerate their lack of respect either. Further note, just as i refuse to buy into the golden dawn bullshit, i just as comfortably wont buy into the commie crap either..

This is football, its passion and it has underpinnings that need to be respected otherwise it all crumbles... may aswell franchise up if thats the case and we ignore our identity for the sake of others.

Absolutely NOTHING about ignoring our identity file.. But you and I and others need to understand that "we" are no longer our ONLY identity...

South Melbourne Hellas will ALWAYS be a shinning light of the achievements of hard working Greek Australians from all walks of life, neither left nor right dictates our politics nor should it EVER... When our ancestors combined two park football teams of Greek migrants looking for a match with the original South Melbourne United we became the representation of the ambition our parents had in us and our children and our children's children... They can force us to change our name to Lakers or Gunners or Southern Cross or whatever malakia but it will always be HELLAS in our hearts until the end of time or the club folds.... thats unquestionable... Our history, our past legends, our current members, our crest our colours all link to the origin story of this club ......... but its not the ONLY thing that defines us... In my opinion we are first and foremost a football club, everything else is just our "flavour"

What I am trying to say is that, and again this all just my opinion, all these poor kourades trying to somehow disrespect us by "attacking Greekness" is more a poor reflection of how insignificant they are and how jealous they are of who we have become than any real insult... We have fans from all walks of life chanting Hellas every week and some even wave Greek flags around... that to me is a measure of inclusiveness of our club and community, lets NOT become some sort of gatekeeper for who can and can't support us (Im not saying you are saying that btw).

Personally I would be ashamed if we started calling Preston supporters Bulgarians again (especially considering all the wonderful North Maco players we have had over the years) or responded to Hume fans and called them Mongols or whatever... Sure it annoys me too when I hear these wannabees try and turn a football match into a nationalistic debate, Im more interested in supporting my footballers and my club...

There are thousands of other avenues for me and my family and friends to express our "Greekness", following my football club isn't one of them. ..... sorry for the rant, just my opinion.

Mono for the most part we are essentially saying exactly the same thing ... you re just more tactful.. our only difference is in the level of "cosmopolitanism" we each may have lol.

Always will agree that support of our football club should never be the avenue for nationalistic bullshit, but is also should never come at the expense of our national identity either!! Its a tough balance to find but it needs to be found.

I felt guilty for wanting them to lose because seeing Leonidas smash us at Dunston reserve would have been a new low...but i guess it may be coming next year.

Very worried about this Sundays game.

Im stunned, like wtf was that we dished up? We had enough experienced players on the field, we couldnt move the ball, we looked slow, just hit and hope stuff. Does Lakeside not suit us? Cos we've looked more uncompetitive at home than even our away games. It took 2 of our defenders to bail us out...they could have played all night and you'd never get a goal from Harding and Inglese. Mells was woeful would consider not playing him.

Someone needs to step up and do a Pope for us early in the game so we have something to hang on to cos those Victory kids will maul us.

I cant comprehand that we can barely beat pascoe vales reserves.
