A league dissolved thread

Application to wind up the Club's Corporate entity.

I can dream that means the club remains as a football team and they find new owners rather than possibly losing the club entirely.

I do not relish being PPIMB, GCKIMB or, god forbid, SMIMB.

As much as NoMates is NoDoubt grinning ear to ear already it is really quite concerning.

Hopefully the ATO is doing this to force the Bakries to pay whatever they have been dodging rather than actually wanting the Roar to shut up shop.

That would be huge if you got rid of bakries but you'll need someone else to pick the club up is there much interest?

Look Bris Roar bring nothing to the A-league except taking TV money that would/could go to a club/s that deserve it. They bring nothing to the league itself, They have a whole state behind them yet cant even sell out a 10k stadium come finals football.
They are now one of the worse clubs TV rating wise up there with WU and Adelaide.
The club has no ambition and there youth system is a joke compared to the rest of the league.
Id rather see Sth Melb in the ALM then having a club from a state that doesn't deserve to have a pro club in our national comp.
Does QLD need the A-League? Yes but does the A-League need QLD - No!. Best bet is to be put in the NPL or the 2nd division when it starts until QLD can get its act together.

We are proper football nation, clubs getting stripped down by the government. We all want to be like the Balkans, don’t we? this is football cultrahhh

I know we have had this discussion before but all I will ask this time is - do you consider the owners are the club?

I don't.

All of your statements about lack of ambition and the like may be completely true for the owners, but I disagree that they are either staff and player related or state related.

List Qld players in the aleague over time, and aleague players who played in Qld teams, and you can't say the aleague does not need Qld. The Qld contribution is significant and positive.

Consider an Australian National Football competition by its name and nature. Then happily say that Queensland, ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania do not deserve a seat at the table. It is a ridiculous concept that a national competition would exclude states or territories from participating outright.

I love that you consider the size of the state when you talk about filling a stadium in Brisbane but do not consider the size of the state when travelling to a game. By all means bag out the number of people in Brisbane who don't go but seriously, to bag out the state for not coming to a Brisbane game?

I also love that you choose to say "include South Melbourne" instead when there are thousands of clubs out there but you choose the one with the highest following on this forum to support your side of the discussion. I see what you did there.

I really think that Qld Football and Brisbane Roar have got up your nose big time somehow - makes no sense to rule out such a prominent and significant state from the national competition with all that we have brought and still bring to the league across all clubs.

We could have ruled out the whole of New Zealand from being participants based on the success and performance of New Zealand Knights using your arguments. And how we would have lost out doing that when you look at the quality and support of Auckland FC this season.

It is a team at a specific time that may or not bring anything to a competition - not the country or state they come from and not the football team for all time. Just the team then and there - and that comes all the way back to the owners and nothing else in my eyes.

NoMates is a known troll, I wouldn’t read too much into his comments

South Melbourne Hellas would never relocate here.

The catering is crap and the food outlets are closed before the end of the game.

I know what matters.
Ummmm sorry to say mate, youve just made a very compelling case for us TO relocate..... Hot chips and frozen meat pies would be an improvement on the slop we have........

Anyway, just wanna say, stay strong, hopefully its just the ATO tiring of your shitty owners shenanigans... They did the same with WU and still no windup order.... Hope this is the catalyst for Bakries to sell the license and new owners treat you guys with a little more respect. (No I dont want South to buy the license....)

South Brisbane Hellas FC has a certain "je ne sais quoi" about it
Correct don’t know about squat haha

No mates is like a frigging double agent.
You don’t know what side he’s on most of the time but he is good keeping up with Peppa viewing figures.

Have to say anything is better in Brisbane than NZ franchises.
