I think the perennial benched players even at the last WC have decent abilities and needed to be played in place of the big name regulars who'd been slacking. Healthy competition makes everyone better.I know there are players missing, but that right edge of the matildas look better than their first choice
it was a great cross, but there has been some good combination play down that flank all night

Refereeing is biased against the Matildas again today, similar to the games back in November/December last year against Brazil. Some of the Argentinian players should have been pinged for fouls in the first half but sadly that wasn't the case. The ref let a lot of foul contact go towards the end of the first half, or called things the wrong way to my eyes, and my feeling is we are copping the raw end of the stick overall.
But the offside goal might make up for that
Either her sideline officials don't see anything or they don't want to speak up. The decision against us on the left wing late when the Argentinian player rolled her way up the Aussie's legs to stop her after she was past was a bit mind boggling.
We are mostly passing a lot better and with cohesion, playing forward often where we played back and defensive early on to feel out the game, and being very constructive against Argentina's set defensive structure. Looking good when we get in behind with either a run or a pass.
Just lacking composure for the goal shots.
It is good to see our team actually completing passes most of the time. Makes such a difference when players get spotted and receive the ball they are working for. Liking how we can receive balls with an opponent breathing down our necks and use skill, physicality and guile to maintain possession and create something from it.
