World news and politics.

they have made a superpower look like a bunch of drunks for 3 years....
Fair point and I certainly agree here. The Russian military isn't a great example of how a superpowers military should perform.

It's been widely reported that Russia's army is facing issues with motivation, stemming from factors like inadequate training, poor leadership, and logistical problems. This lack of motivation, combined with other weaknesses, has definitely contributed to Russia's struggles in Ukraine. Plus the fact that it's becoming more a 'meat grinding' war of attrition by the day. This tends to be a motivation killer too, especially considering how much of the work is being done by conscripts.

But they would walk it if Ukraine wasn't getting the help it is from the West. Putin has definitely miscalculated the mindset of the NATO nations in this regard.

What 'capabilities' did they need though? In base terms, they loaded trucks up with drones, drove them there and let them loose. Ukraine has probably developed and evolved drone warfare miles in front of anyone else in a conflict today.
Intelligence. It's military intelligence agencies that are the masters of the modern battlefield. Even in such a rudimentary war as this one. And particularly when conducting synchronised operations such as the one we're talking about , some of which was more than 5,000 kilometres from Ukraine...

This particular attack was reportedly 18 months in the making. It would have required immense amounts of 'third party' intelligence.

Agree with this, however the intelligence here could have also been their Achilles heel, for example

1. Sharing could compromise - definitely with the US
2. Sharing could also have their partners talk them out of it,

1 and 2 would definitely be applicable with the US. Most European allies have also been hesitant to let Ukraine strike deep inside Russia so far.

Partly agree on this. France and Germany have been very cautious, yes. But not Britain though. They seem intent on pushing the Ukrainians to keep going at it hard. Losing thousands of young men in the meat grinder each month seems an irrelevant factor.

This war might have finished by now with a reasonable settlement in place if it wasn't for the former Conservative Government in Britain, Boris Johnson inparticular. And those running the place now seem to be not much different....

The other European NATO states don't have much military clout, maybe with the exception of Poland. I actually admire the Poles immensely, in geopolitical terms, they have acted in an exemplary fashion during thos conflict. Kudos to them.

Yanis Varoufakis has been accused of being a 'Russian asset' because from the git go he said the West should try to negotiate with Russia. Russia goes back behind its border, but keeps Crimea, And Ukraine NEVER joins NATO.

I am a follower and supporter of most of what he says, but even I was wary of this so called 'mollycoddlying'.

But as each day passes, I believe he is being proven right.

Along the southern embankment of the River Thames in London, just over the road from Vauxhall railway station is the 'SIS Building'. It's more commonly known as MI6's London HQ. It's been used as a backdrop on just about every James Bond film over the last 25 years. It's probably one of the most recognised military intelligence buildings in the world.

A mile or two further along west of the southern embankment of the Thames at Embassy Gardens at Battersea is the United States of America Embassy and deep within the bowels of this mega building lies the much less conspicuous 'London Station' the CIA's London HQ.

Between these two bastions of international statecraft is a series of multi billion pounds developments known as Nine Elms. A kind of mini Dubai-on-Thames...

Along the Nine Elms riverside walkway are a number of very expensive and extremely expensive restaurants. And it's in these salubrious eateries that senior members of the British and US military intelligence services often get to lunch with each other. I would have imagined the Chablis was flowing as fast as the River Thames itself this last few day, as these high ranking spooks bestowed congratulations on each other for a job well done.

However now that senior Russian diplomats are now inadvertently pointing the finger, this Friday lunchtime might not be as much fun.....

We are living in interesting times!!

obvious warmongering propaganda channel is obvious

who is the Perun youtube channel?

A: The creator remains anonymous, but has disclosed being an Australian with a background in defense economics or public policy.
solid trustworthy source there

when did the left become so militant?

oh that's right its always been the case

meanwhile Russia has struck back hard... why would you attack the nuclear triad if your objective wasn't a first nuclear strike?

this is what you people support

the condition of the START treaty necessitated these aircraft be parked outside... attacking it is a clear violation of the treaty
