The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Not getting personal, I didn't call you a flog.

I just said when it comes to football, you don't sound like you have much of a clue.

If you did, you wouldn't call the most coveted trophy in Tottenham's trophy cabinet, "low hanging fruit".

If you meant something else, then maybe I misunderstood.

they beat Bodo/Glimt and Manchester United to win it... ffs

its the softest Europa League in history, anyone can see that under the new format

the final was like two junkies fighting for a seat on the bus

now here's a serious question, if Levy was so wrong to fire Ange then there'd be a gaggle of top 5 league clubs lining up for his services wouldn't there?

He finished 5th in his first season in the EPL and basically threw the second season to win the Europa League and qualify for the UCL. Did you want them to challenge 10th during/after all the injuries, throw the EL and not qualify for anything?

Also, the medical staff were all sacked midseason.. so were the injuries their fault or Ange's fault? If it was Ange's fault, why were they sacked and vice versa? Also, if the league position was an issue, Ange should have been sacked in February. I don't buy what Levy is selling.

so CEO's of top 5 leagues we see what you see and they'll be lining up to hire him right?

we have odds now...

He's favoured to go back to Greece with AEK Athens being the top choice at 3/1.

With international experience under his belt, there's a 5/1 chance he may return to Australia. 🤭

There are also odds of 6/1 for the Scotland job, with Steve Clarke reportedly under pressure.

Other possibilities include Leicester at 8/1, Ipswich or Celtic at 10/1, and any Saudi Pro League club at 12/1.

the crème de la crème of world football lining up for Ange's services

Just for curiosity's sake:

Is Villarreal's 2021 Europe League victory tainted since they beat the likes of Dinamo Zagreb and Manchester United to win it?

chief, they beat Arsenal and Manchester United who were both in the top 6 of the Premier League that season, not 15th.

How about we give the grace of time and see where Ange ends up, rather than straw manning the situation.

so top 6 is the threshold then - gotcha:

Eintracht Frankfurt - top 3 Bundesliga
AZ Alkmaar - top 5 Eredivisie
Rangers - top 2 Scottish Premier League
Roma - top 5 Serie A
Galatasaray - Champions of Turkey

no, top 6 Premier league is the threshold sport

they didn't beat Rangers, Roma or Galatasaray either for what its worth. Try harder.

FWIW I don't know who Ange will sign for. There's a lot of clubs in top 5 leagues so it would be quite an indictment if he didn't manage to snag a job at one of them. I mean there are some pretty poor teams in there too, the likes of St Pauli and Augsburg are pretty dire and a massive step down from Spurs.

It’s such a strange obsession.

Trying to “gotcha” a few fans on a forum celebrating little old Ange Postecoglou’s achievements.

It’s not like there’s a treasure trove of Aussie managers doing the business at the highest levels of the game.
Its topical because he's an 'aussie' manager, which is why I discuss it. Aren't I allowed to talk about it now?

Nobody’s said you’re not allowed to talk, quite clearly you do a lot of it.

It’s just weird that you get upset that Australians seem to rate an Australian manager. Or support him at least.
