I dont know, call me greedy but leading the wins rate would be a plus... the trophy would also be a great boost pre au championship for this team after the tumultuous season we have had.
Given the difficulty without the depth to even bank on the semis of an Au cup run, then the dockerty remains the most realistic for me.

No doubt survival remains paramount, but this could effectively be cemented with the next few matches with a little luck and then pressure is fully off.

Not in the least fussed about finals which we can only make if a small miracle transpires, im currently happy with more focus on continuing to bleed some of the youngs, incorporating the new and gaining some proper depth to gel the team for October time...

Here i will have to say that credit to the coach bc I for one have rightly and highly criticised him for some of his decisions, but I have to give him credit for Sundays choices and for his implementation regarding the tikes that have stepped up, which is all him!
 
Thankfully some of the younger players like Francou, Leech, Skapoulas, and Pope are starting to step up. In a funny way, our lack of squad depth primarily forced the coach to look at younger players to find solutions.

To go on deep cup runs, you need depth and quality. Hopefully we sign another 1-2 non-cup tied players on top of the previously announced Menelaou and Nagamatsu.

HAVE they been announced though? I havent seen anything from the club?
 
It would be a massive statement signing if we could land Bruno Fornaroli and from it there would be a massive buzz around the club in the backend of the season and into the championship but I doubt this current board have the on field ambition and aspiration to make a signing like this.

Maikousis even mentioned at a members forum once that we won’t be spending as much as the likes of Avondale and Oakleigh.

Dependent on his hunger and physical capabilities to be fair.. yes as far as a statement goes it would be a big buzz and an ideal lead in to AU champsionship if he came on the cheap that is... otherwise i think there are better younger players out there that would serve us better!

This is all well and good if you have huge pulling power and are a club where everyone wants to play, if your not you pay!

Is he a hasbeen though? Bloke scored a few weeks ago in the A league semi final.

When it comes to ambition i swear we come across like Spurs lol.

Club needs to decide whether its genuinely big or not. We do a lot of barking but fail to deliver.
 
Good player that will help a top club win finals. Personally think he would be wasted at South, if he wants to end his career on a high, he should probably go to Avondale.

Avondale the team with 51 goals scored this season does not need him, he would be wasted taking a spot from someone thats better.

South has little attacking depth, and that will show this Sunday with both Mikkola and Bonada out suspended.
 
No place for 38yr old washed up has beens at South. Rather play a younger who has long term potential

Hopefully Jake Marshal is available. Means our defence is at full strengh. Move Inglese to Def Mid and some how find someone or something to create up front...
