Yeah sorry I didn’t mean just specifically against us but VPL1 teams came in at the same time as NPL’s sides anyway so Eastern Lions only cup game would have been against South anyway

Think he came on late in the game.

We are still in a precarious position. Oakleigh without Salmon will likely lose to st albans and victory will likely beat port, so if we get done on Sunday we will only be 2 points above the drop zone.

Still so angry we didnt move on Esteban earlier, we would be dead last if he stuck around.

Finals Round Playoff Matches is that set of A-League only matches in Darwin.
Final Rounds is the national Round of 32
Anything before that is still considered as part of the Australia Cup it seems

Thanks for that. It confirms that the new striker is unavailable. We are still a striker short for cup competitions. We in effect need 2 strikers.

Esteban should have finished after the MacArthur Australia Cup match. Bad decision to keep him on.
 
We still need another 3 signings hopefully not cup tied ones to be a chance to win the Dockerty Cup and go on a deep Australia Cup run.

If Mells is gone/out for the season then a midfield of Menelaou, Francou Pope and Leech isn’t enough. Another attacking midfielder, winger and striker (non cup tied) are needed in the window.

Hopefully the club are ambitious and take the momentum from the Preston win to continue this in the backend of the season and into the Australian Championship.
 
Agree - we are about 2-3 signings short of being competitive against the likes of Avondale and Heidelberg.

Menelaou coming is a positive and he’s not cup tied. Given the Japanese striker is cup tied, we need an interstate or ex-A League youth striker as back up.

Ideally we require a replacement for Brennan as well.

Not sure what you can find out there in the midseason transfer window.

Not convinced that we DID pass on Johnny A... What I have been told is that we made an offer, it was accepted, Bergers came along with a counter offer (20k a year more or so Im told) and then we were played off like someone buying a fridge from the Good Guys... how true that is I don't know.

I can't see a way we can compete for all 3 trophies with this squad (even if boosted it will take a few weeks to gel surely?)

Dockerty Cup - we have 9 of the things already
Australia Cup - would be nice to make it further than the Semis
League - survival is the TOP priority for me... we are better and there is light at the endo f the tunnel.. Finals are an impossible ask but finish mid table isnt... thats the goal leading up to the Championship for me.
