AFL thread

Oh man that’s a weak counter.
The privileged ones have nothing to do demonising other codes around theirs and the governing body sure don’t waste their privileged time working against other codes that may compete with them whereas your egg gov body does play dirty for decades against ours hence my utter dislike towards it !
I’m no big fan of watching the yellow tennis ball but passing interest and again that sport also doesn’t waste its time putting down other codes for both sports mentioned are not as insecure nor waste their time.
As for the odd mention on the contrary what’s odd people defend it considering what that game has done to ours and still support the cancer.
I’m coming from the outside looking in and we all can say our peace correct ?.

Really? No AFL club forces South Melbourne to play 2 matches away from home every season to accommodate a bunch of wankers in vroom vroom cars.... In fact we share office space in our stadium with the Sydney Swans and happily co-exist.

You have a bee in your bonnet about everything Melbourne and it shows through.. its very strange mate. I get it you think what city you choose to live in currently is some sort of paradise, good for you... Blaming the AFL for where we are as football nation when the APL exists is the funniest thing Ive ever heard.

No compensation from the champagne sippers mate.. they close the whole Albert Park precinct down. While we can still have access to our ground for training I believe, crowds cant get in our out of the facility (not without a $40,000 ticket to watch the go karts anyway :) )

noted, shame but thats how it goes when the State Gov want to host BIG global sporting events.
Compensation should be filtered down considering the huge influx of $$$$'s.
I have empathy for the football side of it for you but on subject nothing towards that cancer getting back on track pardon the pun :LOL:

Mate I dont really care that much, just winding you up... Im a Richmond supporter and honestly, without looking it up, I couldn't tell you who we played last week or who we are playing this week..... Others at the football care quite a bit... as I assume many at the football up there check the NRL scores or matches while at the football too?

Who cares? Its just a hobby/sport. Its not a serious game that matters to anyone else outside of Australia...

You calling something locally successful a cancer is like calling Vegemite a cancer or our beef export industry a cancer or local manufacturing a cancer.... why? Ive never been big on jealousy.. if the neighbour is doing well good on him, its up to ME to do better if I want....

Don't buy into the bullshit finger pointing and "woe is me"attitude of the plastics... Footballs biggest "cancer" in Australia is ourselves... pure and simple..... Or do you, like the dumb cunts at APL, think that they will somehow transform the 500K people that flock to the MCG every week into Melbourne City and Western United fans by magic if the AFL fails???? oh boy....

TBH amongst the football crew I hang with the other codes don't get much space, same amongst hanging around my to grown sons mates - spouse it varies from clan to clans for some.
We all have bants about our local clubs/our EPL Clubs more than anything else.
Obviously when and IF the cancer recovers after chemo over the years not all would be jumping on our football bandwagon but we would gain a couple more from Melb hahaha better than nothing :)

Everyone in Melbourne that has any interest in football is either an Aleague supporter, an NPL supporter or state league player OR an Eurosnob (or some combination of the lot) NO pure AFL supporter with no current interest in football is going to convert no matter what the AFL does or doesn't do mate... THATS my point...

You are totally wrong in your assumption... I am meh about AFL, I will watch it out of interest if there is no football on and can see the appeal in the game over things like rugby but otherwise dont really get the hype... it is what it is, take it or leave it... Just laugh at how seriously you insist on "leaving it".

Yer sure many are invested in general discussion etc of codes happenning over weekends understand it - I have never said a pure afl supporter would turn their interest in football that I recall, infact I did say very very few.

I'll depart afl thread for not wishing to wind up you guys for I actually having nothing good to say here as gathered.

Do whatever you want man, nobody gives a shit. I just dont wont you to get all torn up about a sport you dont care about, life's too short.
