New Socceroos naming rights sponsor

If I remember correctly JJ gave them the ‘hurry on’ with regards to standing on their own two feet.
yeah i guess we don't know what happens if they reunite

the only reason apl would want to reunite would be to get more revenue sources I imagine?

The only sensible thing to do is to get all of football under the one umbrella. Australia is too small a market to have multiple administrations running the sport.
that's not obvious to me

the goal of any governance structure is to have incentives to be sensitive to the needs to grassroots and maximize the accountability to the community.

I suspect consolidation of power and centralization results in incentives to priotize the bigwigs.
It is notable reading the crawford report that they suggested a model that gives more power to the states (as opposed to their abolition) and suggests the nsl and soccer australia split.

Their governance model looked designed so that every one of the 2000 clubs in australia gets a vote in how things run

I will clarify, I was referring to the professional and semi professional game.

FA under JJ have gone from near broke to a well funded, as I posted on page 3, FA budget looks like exceeding 150 million.

It's worth remembering that 150 million was a high in the old Fox days when FFA had both A-L and national teams

Others have already posted the change in direction taken by FA away from the professional competition to more fundamental aspects.

This needs to continue APL needs to stand on its own feet and generate grassroots interest in the A-L.

The duel role APL n FA can play is in the younger national teams with heaps of A-L players involved.

This should be shouted from the rooftops but it almost whispered by Football fans.

Back on the thread topic it's great news Football has a blue chip backer paying good money over some years.
