Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Some sloppy touches under pressure, Menelaou particularly bad when he cam one... got caught 3-4 times.
I think the second goal kinda gutted the boys! Got cought slow and sloppy across both midfeild as well as the back line throughout and at times really needlessly! Even the normally faultless Mikkola managed it a few times...just outplayed in the end, simple as that!

Bonada was special again last night (not stopped running since the cup) espcailly hilarious when looking to shake hands after every challenge etc, magic to watch! 🤣

We dont want those types of favours!
Lets call it loud and clear, with 52 Australian internationals on our books id like anyone to give me a comparison as to any so called mainstream franchises or other that can claim to be more Australian!!

We have a history no one can ignore, always proud and loud SM Hellas FC!
Marconi have supplied 75 Australian internationals.

Perhaps getting his paperwork for the continued psychoanalysis of melb city group! 🤣
Can't really hate the guy, he has been a great contributor and player for us... Given us many many magical memories. It must be frustrating coming towards the end of your career.... reading between the lines I think he will be replaced for Championship and maybe that's what is causing the lack of care?

We have to go on a massive promotion blitz for the Sydney Olympic game starting right now. Literally need the entire ground open for this, we need to make a splash with some exciting signings, someones on twitter has claimed Fornaroli was there last night and said he wanted to join South when asked...stuff like that. Friday night games have historically never drawn well for us but its up to us to ensure we convince everyone we know to get to the game.

The refs cost us the game, i want the club to post clips of every decision that went against us last night, and then blame heidelberg!
That grub marking Bonada should have seen a second yellow, clear as the nose on my face.... The officiating was appalling but eh, thats football... We lost to three slack arse defending moments and couldn't land our own punches when it counted... The overall play was excellent by us in the first half as you said, we just ran out of steam in the second to a well drilled team..

Crowd was a littel disappointing but at least we weren't out supported like Avondale was against APIA... still a poor turnout from us, under 4 k when the weather was decent... pity no Auckland fans showed up (I think I heard 6-7 people cheer their goals)

Corica giving us the bird was hilarious, what a wee little dicksmoker he comes across as, little man syndrome...

Ever since Bonada came back from injury he has been immense.... great character, great fight in him .....

hahaha I witnessed this "exchange" with Fornarolli... the bloke literally just said "soon" with a shrug and a wink, set one fan off in wild excitement... hahaha I wouldn't hold my breath.... :)

As for promotion blitz, 100% agree.... Ive offered up a couple of suggestions to the club.... we have 2 months now to make some noise... no excuses.. Im hearing our retro top will be re-jugged in some way for this Championships?

It kinda flaws any argument they have! 🤣
There is always gong to be debate around who are the real "factories", I think we all share the burden fairly evenly.

We have had Italians, Greeks, Brazilians, Dutchlanders, Frenchies, Irishmen, Scots, Pommies, Kiwis and a particular German maestro just to name a few - no team is more Aussie than my club.

They need to get their damn calamder sorted amongst other things. This was an ideal Sunday afternoon game fit for a much larger crowd!

We have all been on the same page about this from the start... a big signing will go far in getting crowds and fornaroli seems ideal to cover 2 things for us, first the engagement and interest and secondly the need to be more versatile up front...

i keep goving them the benefit of the doubt bc we keep hearing about exciting stuff coming but we are 3 games away from endnof season what better time to have started floodingb
