On the way back from an inspection today I went to the toilet after I filled the car up.

This sign was there. It was the only toilet too. (DM me if you want to know the exact servo.)

Who do I direct my outrage to first?

BP
Council
Local member
Federal member
Sky News (Paul Murray, Andrew Bolt or Rowan Dean)
Murdoch newspapers
2GB
One Nation
Clive Palmer.

The letter is very strongly worded but I'm unsure if I can afford all the postage if I send it to all of them.

Muz (I hope that's your anonymous name),

This is a sincere tip: we live in a period of history where people are now getting jail time for posting memes.

Just this week in Germany, a pensioner had his home raided for posting a meme.

64 year old pensioner - whose X account had just 1,200 followers - had his home RAIDED by police for merely reposting a meme on the social media.

In the U.S., Douglass Mackey had 7 months in prison for posting memes.

Muz, are you not aware that Australia is set to bring in similar legislation? In the title of this thread, you asked for advice. Any advice to you would depend on whether you want to avoid jail time, or if you want to be freedom warrior to protest in support of civil liberties. And given that people have actually served jail time for posting memes, you can see that these comments, while maybe taken humorously by some, also have an element of urgency to be sober about the times we're living in.

Here's another one: A mother in the UK was arrested in front of her children and locked up for seven hours after referring to a transgender woman as a man online.

Would tsf - a self-described Communist - approve of these things happening in Australia?

In terms of gauging people's reaction to your post, Muz, this article for general information shows the divide between Left and Right in the U.S. House of Representatives. What it shows is that, in society, there are a major portion of society who can potentially be outraged.

A megaphone gripped, they shout in the square,
Conspiracies flying, logic stripped bare.
Facts are for fools, they smugly declare,
A parade of nonsense floats on hot air.

I asked A.I. to help me understand your post, and it said the following:

___

(copied from A.I. as follows)

"The poem reflects a critical perspective on contemporary discourse, particularly regarding the spread of misinformation and the rejection of factual evidence. Here's a breakdown of its meaning:

Analysis of the Poem

- **Imagery of Protest**: The opening line, "A megaphone gripped, they shout in the square," suggests a scene of public protest or rallying. The megaphone symbolizes amplified voices, indicating that the speakers are trying to make their opinions heard loudly and clearly.
- **Conspiratorial Thinking**: The phrase "Conspiracies flying, logic stripped bare" indicates that the ideas being expressed are not grounded in rational thought. Instead, they are based on conspiracy theories that lack logical foundation, highlighting a trend where facts are disregarded in favor of sensational claims.
- **Dismissal of Truth**: The line "Facts are for fools, they smugly declare" conveys a sense of arrogance among those promoting these ideas. They dismiss factual information as irrelevant or foolish, which reflects a troubling attitude towards knowledge and truth.
- **Nonsense Prevails**: The concluding line, "A parade of nonsense floats on hot air," encapsulates the overall theme. It suggests that what is being presented is merely empty rhetoric—loud but lacking substance—akin to a parade where the spectacle overshadows meaningful content.

Themes

- **Misinformation**: The poem critiques how misinformation can dominate public discourse, especially in settings where people gather to express their views.
- **Public Discourse and Rationality**: It raises concerns about the state of rational debate in society, suggesting that emotional appeals and unfounded claims often overshadow logical reasoning.
- **Cynicism Towards Authority**: The imagery evokes a sense of disillusionment with public figures or movements that prioritize sensationalism over truth.

In summary, this poem serves as a commentary on the challenges posed by misinformation and the consequences of prioritizing loud voices over informed discourse in public spaces."

Why ask AI, are you incapable of comprehending it yourself?
