A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 20

With Kota, the Jets have moved up a notch. Another player that is catching my eyes for the Jets is Clayton Taylor - nothing spectacular, just a solid workhorse who is scoring. He presents, he runs, he presses, creates space for his team mates. Very solid.
And the other player that has improved is Mark Natta. Did not rate him at first but now he is solid. The big test will be against Victory.

As for BR, why isn't Brazzette starting ahead of Halloran? Halloran is not offering anything. At least Brazzette is showing ambition.
Halloran has been a big disappointment. His best playing days are behind him and he should be 'encouraged' to retire

Elder has to be the worst ref in the comp. Two tackles from behind let off.

Don’t think so. An Aussie keeper scored from a goal kick in England a few years back, might have been in the Championship.

True. I might be wrong but I think the second NZ derby was moved to fta?? I think it wasn't a huge ratings success, but it's more about the optics of the derby and growing the game.

The NZ derby on tv would get more people interested in the league than a Mariners home match, I'm sorry to say for the Mariners.
I don’t reckon anyone here gives two hoots about the NZ teams

Adelaide United even with so many players out looked very flat today, they could be in a spot of bother given how close the table is and they play the league leaders next week in Auckland…

I've seen highlights of all games this round.

I've had another good look at the Jets v Roar game. As usual Roar fans would be disappointed at the result.

I can't help but feel if Roar had an experienced, quality CB like Degenek, who was on the transfer list, and more experience in the full back positions, they would be harder to beat. I'm assuming Corey Brown and Hingert have been overlooked? These three should be able to organise the defensive shape.

In the first half there was a brilliant passage of play from Roar where Jelecic was heavily involved. There was a sequence of play, where there were 7-8 passes where Jelacic passed the ball in the defensive third, ran forwards, received and passed another in the central third, and then another in the attacking third.

Jets - fantastic passing game from a young team! Natta received an incredibly difficult ball to control in minimal time space, which he did seamlessly today. He might not be the greatest 1v1 ball winner yet, but has to be one of the best ball playing CBs Aus have had.

The entire Jets team passes and moves well in build ups. They can play the ball from the back to the front against some pretty intensive Squeezing. Accolades to the coach!

Forgot to mention the 18 pass sequence for Jets Koto to score. It started in defence, was mainly on the left and ended up on the right flank in the pen box.

Superb football, Jets!

With mcgree out and hrustics form continuing to dive that right inside forward role is looking a bit thin for the roos
I'm not worried at all.

Although Arzani is out of favour with coaches, I think he is vastly superior to both.

Then with all the whiz gen coming through, I think McGree and Hrustic's days as Socceroos will be over pretty soon.

There are younger guys with better all round skill sets.

Agree with all this.

There are a number of players of Halloran's gen, who are struggling, when they should be team leaders ATM.

Brandon O'Neill, DDS, Halloran, Jurman, Scott Galloway, Bernie Ibini, Alan Smith, Chris Herd, Ufrum ?, Hingert, Corey Brown, Joel King, have all faded at an age when they should be peaking. They should be organising the younger kids on the pitch to maintain team shape.

Conversely, Clisby, Ugarkovic, Caceres, Brattan, Hamel, Mauk, Kitto, Garuccio have held their own, or kept up with the whiz gen. They are team leaders and organisers on the pitch.
