100% this.

Genreau was not a wanted player and if any other clubs had shown interest they would have wanted to see him perform. Suddenly Toulouse are naming him in the Starting XI for cup matches and a gamne or two. Everyone got excited and said he is now starting, get him back to roos starting XI etc, best of our mids ete etc. The reality was he was being trialled for an exit to a new club. Once the contracts were agreed and price arrived at, he disappears from toulouse's player sheet. I guess thats the football business.

His new move is a step back but hopefully he can stabalise into more minutes and make it back to a higher league. His problem is that for an attcking 10, he rarely if, ever , scores. his scoring runs have only ever been pre season against vastly weaker, quasi amateur, sides.

Dont get me wrong. Genreau is a good player, but he needs to find his level, and score way more to convince me.

Is he really a 10 though? Always saw him as an 8. I think he will be more suited to Spain where his lack of strength/aerial abilities wont be as big an issue. Maybe that's part of the move he wants to play as a 10? Will be interesting to see how he goes Deportivo are too big to be wallowing in laliga2.

I wonder if we ever have had a player win promotion in two different countries before?

Portsmouth survive matthews with a 7.0 rating

They are going to make a fortune off this kid if he keeps going the way he is. Most of the young CBs in the CHP are on loan from bigger clubs. Souttar was only on loan in L1 at his age.

Hayden Matthews left Fratton Park in a protective boot and on crutches, after taking a heavy blow and soldering on to the final whistle.

And when Hayden Matthews picked up a knock, he could not come off, with all five changes already made.

That led to the bizarre sight of the Australian going up front, with skipper Pack dropping back into defence.

But the Blues were able to see out the seven minutes of stoppage-time to ensure their fine form continued.

Kuol scores
We've got a lot of options but this confidence and form even at the level is enough to throw him on should we need something. Still, I hope we don't need any of that in the next 2 games. Wishful thinking.

Just nice to see him back on a personal level and also in case a few more injuries come before the window.
