We need more dribbly bois to unlock the defenses. Tilio/Arzani both don't seem professional enough to ever get to the level we need from a dribbling winger.

Mathews is out injured. Luongo isn't getting any game time for Ipswich. Not really a fan of Iredale, but our options are limited. Same with Miller.

Cant see us beating Indonesia let alone China with the current squad, we will be lucky to even get into the play offs.
 
Poppa doesn't have technical players who are ready for the roos imo so he has to do with what he has. Doubt even vennie is ready

Burgess calf issue might just be a knock. Fingers crossed

By my count Luongo has played 34 minutes in the premier league since September. But yes, he started in both recent FA cups games. Is that enough? Not for mine, but maybe Popa thinks differently.

I never said Burgess shouldn’t be picked. With our injury issues at CB, he’s probably the first guy picked (if fit).
 
As much as I'd like Luongo to make the squad, we're that stacked in midfield and we're obviously starting Irvine and probably O'Neill that the better players will still be kept waiting. Caceres absolutely only if he tears it up.

I hope we don't need attacking miracles but I'd take Garang over Leckie now.

Garang Kuol is not a proven Men's level performer. Its a no from me for his inclusion.
 
So there are possibly two or three games for all of our overseas Aussies and local domestic A-League players before the international window opens. We are either cursed to more injuries or we have had our share and pops can pick a confirmed and fit team. I am actually really worried that inexperience and lack of matches together will take a toll on results against these two opponents.

Do other teams have similar injury woes and important players missing?

It's difficult to pick a side without round pegs in square holes if Popa goes with the same formation.

Irankunda needs space. You put him there he wont touch the ball. The guy cant hold the ball or do anything else.

Look like you haven't been following Aus abroad.

I haven't been watching much this season, so this is a question from genuine ignorance - but why hasn't Noah Botic come up as a potential in any discussions? He seems to have delivered at youth levels and is currently the top goal scorer in the A-League. Surely we should be at least bringing him into camp. Why no love?
 
So do we expect the squad announcement after the games this weekend? Its a bit fraught with the number of injuries that we already have.
 
So we have Souttar, Circati, Burgess, Matthews and Stensness injured at CB.

On top of that Geria and Deng aren't getting game time.

Then we're also missing Bos and Farrell at LB.

At RB we aren't affected but it's also our weak side.

I expect we'll see Rowles, Behich, an underdone Geria, Miller and for Iredale to come in. That's conservative so what I think Popovic will do with a back five.

I'd like to see bravery with a back four and younger guys like Kikianis and Bennie in the squad at least.

We're really hurting and I hope Burgess can get up against the odds.
