I think you are right about the weather and CC's opinion of who can handle the conditions and play the minutes.

Salmon is a moral. Id be surprised if he us not in the starting 13 come the hour before kickoff.

I like Currans heart but i think he is a limited minute player before errors creep into his game. Needs to be managed. Abit like Mahoney.
Salmon has that Tolmanesque quality of keeping us tight in the middle…

Fish has also modelled his attacking game on Tols. 🙂

Actually for a guy that is mostly in the team was a defender, his attack isn't that bad.

We have some dangerous ball runners, a couple of guys who are mainly selected for defence is no big deal.

Great win considering our outs. Will need to pick it up next week, collingwood is a different ball game

Good to get a win, Titans can be a dangerous side at times.

Hopefully Burto and Kicks not out for long.

I hope that we don't see Hhtch come in for Burto.

Happy with O'Neill, but my hunch is Critter in the halves and Smith in the centres.

Smith will be solid in defence and Critter getting more involved is a plus.

Eels game is important the next couple of games are harder challenges.

Kikau & Burton set to miss 4-6 weeks, as the reports suggest.
Yeah bad luck, but I agree with Cirro our depth is better this season.

Next week against Parra is a game we should win, even with a few out.

After that Sharks away on a short turnaround with a few out is tough, but no travel.

After that Knights at home is a 50/50,

4 out of 5 would be a good start to the season.

After the Knights we have the bye and we might be getting some players back soon after that.

Injuries are part of the game unfortunately.

A bit of time out for Kicks might help his back settle down.

Overall our season is still on track so far.

I’d rather see O’Neill, Manncrush or the Fish at 6 than Hutch…. Critter at 6 leaves that side of the field seriously lacking in D as evidenced this week…

I have a hunch that we rate Luke Smith as a centre who can also play backrow. His defence looked good to me in the trials.

So Smith at centre, otherwise O'Neill or Hayward at 5/8.

Mann and Fish are doing great work at lock.

Montoya only facing a fine, so appart from replacing Burto and Kicks no other changes.

I can see DSF coming back into the side with Toups replacing Kiks.

I would try Smith, because if it doesn't work out we can bring on Hayward and shift Critter back to right centre.

Smith and DSF add a bit of size to the starting line up, O'Neill and Hayward are a bit small, though Hayward seems larger.

Still a challenge, Parra will be desperate and the Fox will have a point to prove. The Chooks were well and truly written off before the Panthers game.

I think losing Burto and Kiks will sharpen our focus, I don't think that we will be taking the game easy.

Last 2 games we were firmly in control and the opposition was able to turn momentum around. I am confident Cirro will be hammering that point.

Critter at 5/8 would lift the intensity of the defence in that area, replacing Kiks.

I have some questions about Toups in defence, but he can do some damage as a running backrower. Ideally I prefer a strong defender playing half on his side. Hayward can also do that job,.

I'll stick to my theory that we might see a young guy make his debut this week, either Smith, Todd or O'Neill.

The good news is definitely not Hutch, Taaffe is another contender.

We might see another 1-2 ex-Dogs play for Parra, Fox and Papalli.

Parra have a more experienced halfback, their coach panicking and making a few changes wouldn't surprise me.

Closer game than many expect, but if we keep up a high standard in defence, they will not be able to match it.

Parra 2025 seems like Dogs 2023, the coach probably wants to replace half of the team. Players are learning a new defensive system, some are not up to it.

My hunch is that Parra 2025 vs Dogs 2023 would be a close low standard game. Good thing I can't remember much about the 2023 season except for our defence being woeful at times.

Looking at the reserve grade team O'Neill the most .likely selection. Hayward might start with O’Neill coming on after 25-30 mins. Probably adds to playmaking and kicking game.

Not surpising that Sexton is improving, 50 games is a good number.

Sutton officially released- rumoured news out of Parra, Sutton or Klemmer might end up there.

I can't think of a big name Parra could be signing unless it is for 2026.

A half to replace Brown wouldn't be a surprise, perhaps Pezzet from the Storm.

We still have 32 players in the squad on the Dogs Website.. and I still expect O'Neill to play some NRL minutes this week.

How is an accidental poke in the eye not a high tackle, when every other accidental, incidental, or otherwise contact with the head is a high tackle???… I’m pretty sure the eye is in the head… note… I am not a medical professional…. Note.. get another booster…

7exy has been very good.. and no surprise he is improving for those that actually watched him play in QLD as opposed to parroting shit like ‘he can’t talk’…

Stoked it’s not Crutch… would love to see Toddy get a crack…

Toddy is going to be a gun lock, can play prop and second row on both sides.

Fish is doing the job, but I would like to see a Todd / Mann rotation at lock sometime this season.

Against the Eels we just need to get the 2 comp points.

Without Burto and Kiks defence needs to keep them to a low score.
