The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Played well and should have won but i suspect they have little chance in Germany.

Should still be close to 50/50 from here. The first goal next week is going to be massive. The small fishing town of Bodo Glimt the likely opponent now in the semi final for the winner as well.

So if Ange goes and we have basically no coaches in Europe, you’re happy with that situation?
What an asinine perspective. What I say has no effect on whether there are Aussie coaches in Europe or not.
Half the problem with Ange is he's a legend in his own lunchtime and surrounded by happy clapper Aussies who stroke his incredibly inflated ego and reinforce in his mind he's the greatest manager of all time. You can market the hell out of something all you want but at the end of the day if the product is a dud you'll get found out, which has what's happened. Aussie coaches need to do better, they don't need to market themselves better.

are you an AI bot paid by the russian government to stifle the growth of football in this country?

Ange’s issue is he’s been a big fish in a small pond most his life. It’s very hard to make the transition to a large ocean at the end of your career. It’s very hard to notice your failings when you’ve succeeded so much prior.

I don’t think the support is “happy clappy’, we just want to see an Australian succeed in a sport that offers little opportunities to our country.

nothing wrong with wanting to see an Australian succeed, however we must call a spade a spade.

tbh I'm more optimistic about Popa's start as Socceroo's coach as at least he has a more pragmatic approach but not as cynical as Arnold.

I agree with your first paragraph though

Very disappointed in Ange. It’s unbelievable that he’s managed to turn Tottenham into the 4th worst team in the league. They’re so predictable and so easy to play against. I had a lot of sympathy during the injury crisis, but they haven’t really improved at all since. There’s just no possible excuse for losing so much.

I was convinced Ange would do well at Spurs. It seemed a good fit. Sad it turned out like this. Now I’m forced to acknowledge we’ve severely overrated him.
