Thankfully APIA is P5 on the ladder I'm watching as I watched this morns dross LFC game this morn, like a mate said, LFC put the que back in the rack ffs I shouldn't bother but I can't help the eurosnob in me hahaha
 
I think im the only one thrilled anout this and hoping it becomes as big as the usual world cup

Hope we dont have to wait 32 years for an aussie team to qualify tho

Yeah I think it will only get bigger and we should host it soon before it's too big to award to us.

Have a feeling it’s going to be only used like the old Confederations Cup, and hosted as a warm-up / test run for the following year’s World Cup

It's just not interesting to me anyways. The European clubs are to strong everyone wants to be at those teams

I really don't agree on alot Ifantino does, he or more so FIFA like most leading bodies today is only about the $$$ and thats business I get it......
We already have a Club Cup the CL played during the season but I get why this is going ahead in this day and age of - we must have more to keep the mass's/natives engaged and we can.
The CL is euro based whereas this brings in the Champs for all over globe like a WC but Club.
I actually see it with a open mind purely because I luv watching football.
32 Clubs from 20 nations has alot of variety and some Clubs we hardly watch let alone never.
I'm keen to see the minnows who are Champs from their region against known Clubs large or small.
So many Clubs I've never watched.

Sure Ifantino is the consumate pollie what he quotes couple pasted below - one thing I know more than ever is if you stay the same your left behind, football does need to keep reaching areas it neglected in the past, is this the right way going about it ? hey I'm no FIFA delegate but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Im only interested in the Club Wolrd Cup if/when South Melbourne is playing in it .... beat you in the "close mindedness" stakes... surely :).....

Another cash grab by Infatino - as much as I enjoy watching football that I will I hope it falls on its arse in the US incl the WC might I add as much as it pains me in saying that.
In another thread there is mentions of looking ahead not the past, I get that BUT sometimes it really depends how and where moving ahead is structured and implemented.
 
First game showed players actually cared heavily, good turnout by Al Ahly’s Ultras groups. Would of costed years worth of travel from them.

Tough game; could have been a few goals.
Would most of the Al Ahli supporters already live in the US?
Suarez doesn't add much to the Inter team, waste of space really.
 
This is what I enjoy. 2 teams trying who'd never face off otherwise and decent support for each team. We'll see an interesting mix of football cultures this tournament. All the other shit aside, it's a small filler that'll be over soon enough.

Yeah seemed like a lot of Egyptians at the game in general but the top tier did have a section of their own local Ultras group which wouldn't be based in US.

Will be interesting to see how Europe/Asia discuss this tournament as it goes on. Not many would of been watching the opener.

The decision to expand the Club World Cup from seven to 32 teams this summer has already led to legal complaints from players' union Fifpro and the World Leagues Association.

But the chasm in class between Bayern and Auckland on Sunday is likely to raise further questions about the new format.

Winners of the Oceania Champions League in each of the past four years, Auckland have made it to the tournament on that merit, but upsetting the 34-time German champions was always going to be a tall order – to put it very mildly – for a team comprising teachers, students and estate agents.
