Tough question for me .... City is the less obnoxious of the two however can't get over that whole CFG stable of sportwashing thing.... Victory (as much as I despise everything they are and stand for) is at least as much of a club as the franchise structure allows them to be.

May or may not tune in depending on what we are doing Saturday night... not fussed either way who wins ...

yer Isame about tuning in for no AL must watch fan but that its local football general interest on my part.
I stirred backing MC for young un MCG in SFC colours - the sports washing I really don't hold much interest in that overall they own so many Clubs just part of modern sport as much as there's so much wrong behind the scenes.
Looking at it purely from a rivalry perspective being a sydneyite MV were the first strong franchise vs SFC so obviously like seeing them go backwards so yer, MC. I'll check the mobile for updates otherwise if I'm having too much fun will hardly bother.

Which is kinda why I asked the question.
People dislike City because they dislike CFG.
People dislike Victory because they dislike Victory fans.
Sydney people dislike both clubs because they dislike Melbourne as well as the reasons above.

Starting to think I might be wrong. The GF is very close to a sell-out on Tuesday afternoon.

While none of us fans would want it at Marvel, you have to wonder if the APL missed out on a bit of extra revenue by not moving it.

Seems like only single seats are now only available. City end might even sell out! Although, I am frequently surprised that extra seats are found to sell later.
 
I just hope everyone is well behaved. Sounds silly, but geez these clubs need to redeem some reputation with the general public. This is a golden opportunity, won't get a better chance to put on a good show. Listening to the Box2Box they were basically begging the actives to not f$#@ it up for everyone.

Agreed also no stupid ref decisions I hope we're only talking about the football on Sunday
 
I hope City wins purely because im not a fan of the team that finishes 5th being declared champion.

Have we ever had a 5th place winner? Including nsl, i dont recall it.

That said i think MV win this, i cant picture Aurelio Vidmar being a champion...too much p1ssant baggage.

When Victory beat Newcastle in Newcastle weren't they sixth in the league?

We have made a habit of making the GF outside the top 2. This is the 3rd time since 2018. And ironically, the only time we have come close to winning the league over the past 10 years (2022), we got knocked out in the semi final.

As for having an issue with the 5th place team winning the GF, I don’t because Auckland already have their trophy for winning the league and City already have the ACL qualification.

Most football sicko’s like us on here consider the league winners the real champion. I‘m no different.
