Yep, I look at the numbers for the horse racing every time this data is posted and am continually amazed. Is it this high because horse racing is shown in many/most pubs/clubs (I don't know if it is or not) and the data assumes a certain number of people per pub/club? Or does the data just measure private residences?

Thing is, horse racing is a dying industry. The betting stats demonstrate the decline, officially 10 - 15% year. The tote has halved in the past 10 years. Lots of articles out there about this. So the racing figure is complete bullshit.
 
the kiwis come out en masse for rah rah no matter where - strange they don't for the real football as patriotic as they are in other codes, netball another eg.....

85k+ in Sydney - good reason for a weekend away down south you'd think hoping for another small white cloud defeat of the big bad 27M pop Aussies.
One wonders the first born success of AFC as I called it earlier, the city starved of "events" ??

So it’s a final amongst finals that people wish for here - wonder if the kids at pre school are talking about it and rallying all to switch on

Personally, I reckon we will see football leagues worldwide increasingly ditch traditional TV to make their own content for their own streaming services.

The way ratings are obtained is laughable, and the racing figures versus actual performance demonstrate that. With streaming, you know exactly your audience numbers from the hits.

Advertising is already moving that way with its wallet.

Trad TV is a dinosaur up to its neck in a tar pit. My money is on the EPL being the first. Surprised they haven't done it already.

The EPL are doing more than well with their satellite deals.
