Alice Springs Athletic?FFA made bad decisions after bad decisions more than a decade ago.
Western United and Macarthur were mistakes.
Let's not forget Sydney Rovers were awarded a licence for a few months.
Extending licences for another 20 years.
Heart or Team 11 should've been in SE Melbourne.
Keep Gold Coast.
Canberra, Tasmania brought in.
Regionals of Geelong, Wollongong, Christchurch, North Queensland only if healthy.
NST introduced much earlier.
Pro/rel by now.
It's almost like Gallop was deliberately aiming to kill the sport.
Umm, joining the A League.Whats this a reference to?
As in Al hilal is bidding for a license?Umm, joining the A League.
ObviouslyAs in Al hilal is bidding for a license?
Are there meter maids in Canberra & North Qld hmm?Canberra & North Qld are must haves imho.
Although knowing APL.& FA they'll probably go to the Gold Coast again.
Sporting bodies seem to have a major hardon for that sporting graveyard.
Which areaObviously
fark, good news thoughSee the AFLW is losing 50 million a year
For Canberra, it's usually PA's that do that job.Are there meter maids in Canberra & North Qld hmm?
Even though admin guys such as O'Neill rode off the back of a successful ARU tenure ain't no dummy, knew nothing about Buckley being a afl fella, Gallop like O'Neill rode off the back of a strong NRL period WTF did Lowy pick these NON football types ?! huge part of the problem regards the game. He looked at it like a Westfield a sport is not as such especially ours that has had such unheaval and lack of synergies.I don’t think Gallop wasn’t a good administrator, I think he got a good wicket from the NRL/Newscorp days when the game split but otherwise he hasn’t set the world on fire when it comes to administering other sports.
Covering both paragraphs above, agreed, I mentioned this in another trhead with patjennings, we NEED a FOOTBALL admin fella who understands/knows the principles of the game and has the experience dealing with the inner associated bodies and bang heads together after he has read through a massive summary of our trials and tribulations. This is what happens when the administrators don’t have much success outside of this country, I always felt football should be targeting overseas for administrators just like when we do for players and coaches.
At least JJ worked with FIFA but most local ones haven’t much success outside of the country especially in the world of football, I honestly don’t think we have the expertise and knowledge of administrators that could grow the game that the locals one have already tried.
The fish where the fish are ironically they were looking where they are NOT funnily, having banished the NPL Clubs thats where the fish are but they/he couldn't go back on his word and directive eh, he put us in this position the friggin jerk only thinking for himself NOT the whole game.In terms of expansion, the wave the league had around 2015 was when the league needed to expand but the ‘fish where the fish are’ line which felt like a smokescreen to not do it had the chance to expand, but instead the game decided to put a hand brake because of the Congress wars which put a stop to that and by the time the league decided to expand it was almost too little too late and overall it felted rushed without much thought into it.
People were sold a dream, I have a Dream, always short term.Once again the league and game has never had a long term vision and without working together for the benefit of the sport then how I can’t expect the game to improve and grow?
Someone is mentioning Al-Hilal looking to buy in haha seriously turn it up even IF they did why would you want that to occur - that wouldn't help the game overall whatsoever. We need a full investigation Top to Bottom, get the facts positives negatives, sent the Agenda, then set the Plan for the next 20/30yrs.How many teams, whether it has pro-rel, when it can be played etc it’s part of overall direction and at the moment given the silence from the FA and APL it’s all crickets and nothing has changed for awhile…
Ah, the old "fish where the fish are" line ....... if only the retards could look over their shoulders at the paddock full of prime Angus beef once in a while and realise there is NO NEED to go fishing.....Even though admin guys such as O'Neill rode off the back of a successful ARU tenure ain't no dummy, knew nothing about Buckley being a afl fella, Gallop like O'Neill rode off the back of a strong NRL period WTF did Lowy pick these NON football types ?! huge part of the problem regards the game. Neither in the FA and worse APL have any idea what to friggin do but make sure of cash cows, our beloved NT's and the APL next media/broadcast deal.
Thats the vision of the people running our game.
yep, said elsewhere, 80/20 rule, look after what you got instead of looking elsewhere, no matter the quality of the burley fish don't bite always infact they are not there as well.Ah, the old "fish where the fish are" line ....... if only the retards could look over their shoulders at the paddock full of prime Angus beef once in a while and realise there is NO NEED to go fishing.....
Firstly, welcome to the forum, secondly the APL can jam that bone square up their arseDo we think the APL would be considering throwing South Melbourne a bone? I think it would be the huge shot in the arm the A-League needs and could really re-ignite the league in Melbourne which has really stagnated since COVID
They will be desperate to salvage this upcoming broadcast rights deal, if they can finally get Canberra sorted I don't see why they wouldn't at least be considering it to get to an even 14 teams
Recently discovered this after the Inside Sport forum died, great to see this exists with the same peopleFirstly, welcome to the forum, secondly the APL can jam that bone square up their arse![]()
I consider South Melbourne to be the opposite of a sugar hit, fancy new franchises are sugar hitswelcome ebus,
Look mate re SMH - your bringing up another short term "sugar hit" same applies with canbra.
A shot in the arm isn't good enough - do you/we want to go through the same ups and downs again and again ?!
Thats all your suggesting is going to do, hasn't the last 10yrs alone shown you this.
