I agree with you for what its worth but you never ansere my question.... Why does ANY club "deserve" to be in the Alegaue, your franchise included?Well the way i see it, they wanted to grow the a league so they added clubs like western united which never had a public interest, was anyone crying out for a 3rd Melbourne based team?
In my view, if you wanted to grow the a league, why not let in one of the npl clubs who would be competitive on the field and have a supporter base that'll stick around even when they are at the bottom.
like why start a whole new club from scratch that's not guaranteed to succeed, when you've already got a few clubs in the npl right there in front of you.
Thanks brother, you get it.......Congratulations on the Dockerty Cup win guys.
Stick in there when it is toughest and you come out smiling however long it takes. That's what makes a fan and a club and good on you for it.
on the way nowIts a great day everyone get the fuck down to Lakeside...
Mate Heidelberg paid off the refs to knock us out of the cup. They gave us nothing tonight...
We need a lot more quality in midfieldWe will need to recruit when they open the window for the championship!
Brennan should be playing his final match for the club in 2Yep.. and a bit more versatility at the top bc Brennan aint it!
HAHAHA AND Yet, our club came out with a classy statement thanking the fans and the players for their efforts and wishing Auckland the best for their season. INSTEAD of blaming the refs... go figure.Mate Heidelberg paid off the refs to knock us out of the cup.
Yeah 3 goals from long throws... bloody hell. I was really pleased with first half effort but we ran out of leagues (and ideas) ins ecodn half...Dissapointed we copped some sloppy goals tonight, all pretty much identitical failing to clear the ball off the Auckland long throw. 1st half more then matched it but the 2nd goal in the 60th killed us off and our legs went with it.
I suspect Auckland will finish on top again, its a very difficult style of play to combat, they hardly ever pass the ball backwards and very rarely do they just do meaningless side to side passes, then recycling it back again, the intention is to pretty much get the ball in the box as quickly as possible, even launching free kicks from the halfway line deep.
Now i know how other teams felt when we use to beat them to death with long throws and set pieces lol.
3,700 is a great turnout. Absolutely no reason why we shouldnt be looking at 5,000+ for Sydney Olympic in October.
Some sloppy touches under pressure, Menelaou particularly bad when he came on... got caught 3-4 times. We need a lot more quality in midfield
He sat alone on the bench for a good 10 mins after the match when every other playing was mingling with fans.... He's done I think.Brennan should be playing his final match for the club in 2
