2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

As I say, overshadowed by the a league v npl matches, but imo Avondale v APIA is a very interesting match, genuinely unsure how it’ll go. And again, the winner has a really good run to the final playing time he winner of Brisbane city and Olympic kingsway at home, only having Macarthur and Newcastle on their side of the draw off the top of my head etc

Correct me if I’m wrong but Avondale didn’t play on the weekend coz of south’s involvement in the dockerty cup. While APIA lost away in a derby to Marconi. That plus playing at home should be a big advantage for what’s already a very strong Avondale
Avondale isnt playing at home, they NEVER play at home in the Australia Cup.... Its being hosted by Green Gully.

God only knows how they where awarded a license for the Championship without any lights or seats yet South Hobart and others didnt pass the criteria test?

“Home” in inverted commas. No travel atleast. Will be interesting to see where they play in the championship

What's wrong with their home ground?
the seniors play 10kms away from their junior club, in a small pitch next to an Italian hall of some sort which is in the middle of a housing development next to the freeway, no lights (or they cant use them at night because of the neighbours) and a Bunnings tent as a grandstand.... NOT even close to passing NPL licensing but somehow they are allowed to play every $$$$$season.

Wow, was wsw at full strength?
Kraev went down injured early and was subbed. Big loss up front for them.

First goal was a light backpass in rain - bloody kids stuff - Berger just ran onto it and round the keeper - but he then missed with a poster and it bounced into the Wanderers defender coming back and in. Wanderers will complain that the game wasn't stopped with the injury but they played on and the ref allowed that. Stupid mistake all the way up the other end and a lucky bounce.

Second goal a handball penalty.

Nothing against Bergers and their victory - but far from a normal match.
