2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

Have had a decent look at the replay of Melb City v APIA.

Like the brand of possession football the Melb City u 20s can play against a decent NPL team like APIA. Given how they played I'm happy for the u 20s to play the Aus Cup fixtures, whilst the Melb City seniors are in full pre-season training.

I don't door knock for football games!

Pasquali might have been doing the door knocking!

LOL!

Actually, we are having a mild winter in Southern Tas - a lot of sun, very little rain. Don't know how you guys put up living with all that rain in Sydney and coastal NSW?

We put up with the rain for once the sun shines and temps head north its happy happy days for a lonnnng time.
I look forward visiting Tas once you guys thaw out looking like snowmen and look after us mainland tourists hahaha

possession is one thing being effective is the another key.
APIA's 20 shots to 9.
7 on target, a few crossbar hits, score could have been 4.
8 corners to 4.
APIA defensively and breaking down attack in their mid half was the key to success with just 36% possession.
Some impressive counter play well played by the part timers carrying injuries.

WE were keen to go to nunawading vs Wellington but the dickheads moved it to hume. Does my head in why do we make so many stupid decisions??

Playing the game and hour away from their home base does my head in I tell you
Yeah, that was the topic of covnersation at lakeside yesterday too.. Apparently original match was scheduled 13th/12th mid week and both Heidelberg and South were happy to have Nuna play at our grounds under lights so they can get a bit of a boost from gate takings AND have a big enough place to host a few locals interested in coming and be at least sort of closer to their fans... Oakleigh who is just down the road refused to accommodate outright apparently.... (no surprises there) For some reason the weekend of Dockerty Cup and Nike cup finals was chosen and it was decided that the chance of getting a crowd for girls Nike cup final would be "sacrificed" and Nuna fans forced to drive 3 hours to the other side of town to play... Football Victoria is garbage at the moment....

Still go if you can make it to Hume to watch Nuna... they are a great club, I tip them for the cupset of all ages....

See this is what gets me mad we argue about a league and npl but to me all the administrators are shite. Like I dunno if it's ego or genuine hatred of over clubs it just boggles the mind. Fuck oakleigh really suck they all need a kick up the arse

Anyone got a mix? or some Valium?> Big game day tomorrow and I'm not sure Wellington will get it done.

what a strange red card from sydney united

Nix sneak one at the death

Did he mouth off at the sideline ref about the offside flag I wonder? Surely not for running onto the field to get the ball.

Had the sound off on half the screen with the Sydney's and listening to the Nuna/Nix game on the other half.

In the age old Nix method. Score the one that counts when it counts.

You must be used to that by now...surely...
With the team we fielded I'm happy we got over the line, Bring on Heidelberg United FC!!

not sure but had me confused because I wasn't sure whether that meant SU58 had to go to 10 men or not

Anyone considered to be within the field's boundaries can be carded as far as I know - so anyone inside the fences/stand. Even a stretcher bearer or medico if it came to it - or to go one step further even the 4th official or sideline refs if it was warranted.

Only the players actually on the field will reduce the team by a player though.

That's my amateur understanding...
