Bloody hell Mono. Your team does not make it easy to watch.

Congratulations on another very hard fought win.

Your team does not seem to employ the midfield at all or when it does it has very little composure. The whole first half was marred by long balls to no effect completely avoiding any build up. It looked to me like your coach expected a walkover game and just bombed it ahead expecting your forwards to run away with the game.

Pascoe Vale youngsters showed the intensity and drive you expect from players with an eye on the future and ambition to excel and they went so close to building an enormous hurdle with those couple of 'open goal' failures in the first half. They constructed their attacks well and played a very tight defensive game to choke up your players bringing the ball out.

From lengthy personal experience I recognise and acknowledge the ability to create chances and contrive to make the much harder shot of missing the goal completely. While Pasco Vale blew a few chances, your own team had the lions share of fluffs. Again on a personal note - I find that a promising sign with the possibility of having a fit and accurate forward at some point to just finish those off. If you didn't keep giving away your top flight strikers you would be doing it better ;).

Glad you asserted control finally towards the end and the game finally settled in your favour. You could have played a much more controlled and composed game throughout but to get it right when it matters, yet again, is something at least.

Onwards and upwards!

Yes RIMB my last couple of games viewing them is same.
Messy, long balls with hope and a prayer.
Pass’s going to no one but the opponent.
Anyway they stumble along.

When I watched a recent Cup game here in Syd against 2 top 4 NPL clubs it was electric top football viewing - chalk and cheese.

Tell me about it mate..... it probably doesnt help that we haven't played the same staring 11 in 3 months.... Despite the commentators making a huge deal about Pako resting all their senior (which was a bizarre move btw) we had our own share of U23s on the pitch.

Nothing really to be gleaned from this one, we fielded an "experimental" squad for the first half, went down to a poor midfield turnover and scrappy 2nd string keeper error and then restructured for second half, kept the pressure on a rapidly tiring low block and comfortably ran over the top of them in the dying stages... Our midfield woes are NOT a recent thing, particularly terrible last night though, Mells was just woeful .. Cap that off with a CB DM playing makeshift striker to chase a lead and fluffing his lines twice in the 6 yard box FROM POINT BLACNK RANGE - Bloody Hell Lucas.... lol. Not to mention an underdone creative player in Bonada missing a sitter... we made the game look harder than it needed to be.

Great news is that some of our walking wounded are coming back into the lineup over the next 2-3 weeks so things ARE a little rosier at Lakeside.

Pako youngsters where tremendous though, scrapped for every single 50/50 ball and showered themselves in glory for a good portion of the match.... well played to them, their coaching staff will be mugs not promoting a few (their right fullback for example) to the first squad this weekend.
