A-league attendances 24/25

The commentators said it was the second highest attended Nix game this season I think...?

A good public holiday occasion by the sounds of it.
Would be the third highest, but second highest in Wellington.
They got 14k last week in Christchurch, and 26k when they played Auckland.

Agree but I think the majority people referred to in the UK were probably born/raised there and grew up in the UK enjoying football and where football is the number one sport. Quite different to people that have emigrated from India where cricket is number one and is almost a religion.
Yes Cricket is a religion in India, I'm not comparing the 2.

My whole team works in India, while not all are sport fans those that are love their cricket & likes their football, they know & follow football.

I haven't seen too many Indians at AAMI. And given that there is over 1.4B Indians, even if only 1% followed football, that would imply about 14M people. But I haven't seen too many at AAMI.

I was specifically talking about the Kolkota derby. Funnily enough the last of those was relocated for some reason to another city and only got around 2,000 people.

"The Kolkata Derby, held at Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, saw only a handful of fans from Kolkata in attendance. The first derby in Kolkata had nearly 60,000 fans filling the stadium. Despite the stark difference in crowd size and atmosphere, Molina acknowledged the significance of the result for the fans back in Kolkata.

‘Not too many supporters in the stands, but a lot of people in Kolkata are pushing us up and supporting us. We have to win for them.’ And finally, we did our job.”

“I can tell our fans, we missed them. We would have liked to play in front of them. We fought for them, and I hope they can enjoy the victory. I’m waiting for them for the next match,” Molina added.

Seems like Mohun Bagan are the Bayern Munich of the league in terms of money, crowds, and results. Maybe the most Aussies too which can’t be a bad thing.

Thank fuck, we got a draw. Yes, the atmosphere at the ground was, good.

Just shows you, what football in this country can achieve.
Exactly, there were so many people who were dressed in Blue or Black and Red.
The passion was massive.
