A-League Men 24/25 - Round 10

Looking forward to watching us play in person next game at Suncorp. Can read much more of the quality or lack thereof when you are at the ground taking the whole picture in.

Agree.

Wish we had more access to AL football live in Hobart.

I'm envious when other posters attend live games a few minutes away.

Despite the loss Bris Roar played well, there young kids are doing great they just need to click and start getting wins. Jan transfer window cant come soon enough for them.

I've seen Waddo have plenty of excellent touches, but haven't watched everything he does for an entire game like scouts do when they compile scouting reports.
Stuff the scouting report - when you are hanging off every play hoping to finally convert game play into a goal you notice every single missed opportunity like a splinter of glass in your tongue (there's a supporter's perspective for you) :)

his last two games seen only 1 bad touch and quite a few good touches

I felt the game was already won after the red carding. It killed the moment for me in what would have been a top match otherwise win or lose from either side
The game was won before the red card & teams with 10 men have won football games quite a few times. Sydney just backed off significantly in the second half which is why pretty much nothing happened until the 3rd goal.

This might make you laugh or not

A few years ago mariners played a nye game and I went to a pub in North Melbourne. Nobody else was there and I swear every tv has the game on (imagine that now) so I was glued to the tv and when the net broke and kosta went to fix the net on the ladder I was hooked. The lass didn't think much of it and we ended up fighting.

And they tell me a league doesn't have any prestige

Burke-Gilroy is the speedy left fullback/winger with the braided hair. Works equally well coming forward, defending back, or chasing a turnover.

Brazette is the speedy, short winger/left forward with a shock of dark hair. Skilled feet and willing to take players on.
Thanks, RMIB.

LOL!

Lovely use of the English language!

I've seen Roar play some decent football against Auckland, and one of the Melb teams, having the better of both games, but just not creating as many opportunities.

Both Auckland and City/Vic were frustrated at how well Roar pressed, hence, turning the ball over a lot more than they would have liked.

Fair enough but if you ask me the player going in the way he did with his back half turned was asking for trouble. That was a dumb way to try and win that ball.

I've had words on the run with blokes that go in arse first.

Thoughts @NicCarBel
I haven't read on context yet, but I'm assuming this is the challenge VAR upgraded to red after seeing the player bounced off the ball into the shin?

Have had a read through the thread, and re-watched the incident again. Is one of those harsh ''orange'' cards incidents. Personally, when watching as a fan, it's very on the fence when the ball is involved like that, but can go either way.

Although in saying that, with what's being said here, Muz is right. The contact with the studs of the boot above the ankle warrant a red (as per LOTG guidance), regardless of whether the player bounced off the ball or not. Sure, it's probably a mitigating consideration for tribunal, but at the end of the day, the LOTG don't say anything about specifically 'winning the ball' in a challenge.
