NZ Derby too.
Hey Robbo, you'll like this..

Last night there was a young bloke at Lakeside with a Wellington jersey on and a Hellas scarf..... I must have looked puzzled because he said he was a Wellington fan but Hellas was his local NPL club and he was just glad to watch one of his teams win this weekend... lol

Love it Mono, what football should be.

Liverpool form has dipped slightly but winning, signs of a great team. They are humming.

C'mon man. "form dipped"??? I know you are just teasing LFC here but they ARE still 7 clear at the top of the tale with only ONE loss for the league season ... :P Mate I would take that sort of form dip any day of the week... lol

Jets must beat brisbane to have any hope of a late push for finals but brisbane may fancy a chance to double their win tally here. Phoenix will be desperate to avoid giving Akl a derby clean sweep but since Rojas & Colakovski are out they lack options up front & firepower. Unless WSW can beat CCM they can't really be taken seriously from here on in. Melbourne derby is going to be quite a tussle, City less flashy but have a more stable & consistent look about them so could prevail. Sydney we will be knackered after ACL2 not expecting alot against Perth. Adelaide away to Western Carl will be feeling the pressure.

Question for the Victory and City people here.
Do you actually see this game as a derby?
Me personally, I don't think I do anymore. Maybe if the City fanbase had grown, but it just hasn't. For me, the two biggest games in the fixture are Adelaide and SFC. Those games I make sure I don't miss. Those games actually feel like rivalries. There was a time when WSW was also on that list. Back in their Popa era, as they were a good side and plenty of actives would travel down. The City games just feel a bit meh, over the last few years. This is the first season, I've actually looked forward to facing WU over MC.
Just my two cents.

I do, don't want to lose it that's for sure lol, but for me my favorite rival game is adelaide - away. As for 'Rivalries', I probably dislike Sydney the most but wouldn't care less about travelling there to watch it.

I do see it as a derby but when victory and city players (and managers) swap shirts like they are playing at the park it's not hard to see why you lose a bit of passion

I also think the shared venue doesn't help things. I think that's one important factor that helps the Sydney derby. There is a bit of a geographical division up in Sydney. I reckon if WU actually build there stadium and start playing all their home games there, it has greater potential to become a proper derby.

Does Victory represent the whole of Melbourne?

I really want to gee up for the Sydney clash but I just can't.

Besides the possible debut of Amos, our season might as well be at a dead rubber.

Even 9th - which would guarantee us an Aus Cup playoff, is extremely unlikely :(

Sydney and Victory are the two games I never miss for some reason.

We don't exactly have a rival.

The NZ derby is sold out, and will be shown on FTA in NZ for the first time. Shame its not on FTA here in Aus but going by the last TV ratings when it was they weren't that good (Only 40k).
