I think the league would hypothetically be better with Heidelberg in, likewise Melb knights if they could get their shit together etc hopefully bergers get a taste for it this year via the qualifying spot etcDifference also being though that both have a potential but only one is making moves to realizing that potential.. ...
Im sure there are some basic rules in place that need to be adhered to, but its more of a case of "whats good for thebgoose is good for the gander" in their opinion!Surely ASADA are opposed to cash injections...? Artificially creates an unfair advantage (yes, just like my plastic brigade).
For the name change though - tats are not the way to stay relevant with a football club.
I’m confused. Whats wrong with selling equity to investors? Happens to football clubs all over the world in every league. The fact that Wests want to invest in APIA is great. It shows that there are people with money that believe in the Championship.
Agreed, investment is great... I wonder why they wouldn't invest in an Aleague franchise though? Any thoughts?I’m confused. Whats wrong with selling equity to investors? TR was always going to gain a strong backer for the years ahead, West's been a partner for decades and the Leichardt link naturally.
I don't know this ends up for the better ahead but we all will wait and see, main thing is the $$ backing showing the many negative people about the ol clubs there is backers out there !
“We’re proud to join forces with Wests Ashfield in this exciting new chapter,” said Tony Raciti, president and chairman of APIA Leichhardt.
“This partnership unites two long-standing clubs with deep roots in the community and marks a significant milestone as we prepare for the inaugural Australian Championship. Competing as Wests APIA FC reflects both our rich heritage and shared vision for the future.
“Wests Ashfield have been the club’s major sponsor in the NPL space for over 3 decades; however this incredibly significant investment for the Championship competition truly is game changing. This partnership with Wests Ashfield will elevate APIA Leichhardt FC from a significant contributor in the Australian footballing landscape into an unstoppable force into the future.”
Obviously only TR and the board know till some news gets leaked and good question we wait with bated breath. What kind of "investment" exactly is my question?
Wouldnt that make them the best team in their state?Controversial take; APIA Leichhardt = the Italian equivalent of Heidelberg imo
if you combined their silverware you may be able to have enough cups for a very very very small tea partyWouldnt that make them the best team in their state?
Wonder who kept the 96/97 NSL cup in their trophy cabinet??if you combined their silverware you may be able to have enough cups for a very very very small tea party![]()
Went to Princes Park half a dozen times to see the old Carlton. All I could think of how tiny the soccer pitch looked on the eggball ground, you Victorians are weird.Concerning trend: every team that was backed by another code in australian football history has gone bust
What an abysmal place for football that was (especially the day of the drubbing for us!) ... thank god those AFL experiments didnt last too long!Went to Princes Park half a dozen times to see the old Carlton. All I could think of how tiny the soccer pitch looked on the eggball ground, you Victorians are weird.
Glenardo I get our rivalry and spreading the Championship field BUT APIA are the better comparing the Bergs stat to stat.I think the league would hypothetically be better with Heidelberg in, likewise Melb knights if they could get their shit together etc hopefully bergers get a taste for it this year via the qualifying spot etc
I think you’ve miss understood what I’ve said there, I’m not saying it would be better to have Heidelberg than APIA, I’m saying the league would be better off with all the current clubs plus Heidelberg, plus knights. I want APIA to be in the leagueGlenardo I get our rivalry and spreading the Championship field BUT APIA are the better comparing the Bergs stat to stat.
MK I agree shame they have fallen off the cliff as it happens.
FORZA APIA !especially this Sunday @ the Palace putting another dent in your campaign haha
@LFC Since @Glenardo wont take the stabs at you, i will, to get these rivalries re ignited before October.. Apia who? I thought yoi playing as Wests tigers? And isn it true that Marconi makes a better pizza?I think you’ve miss understood what I’ve said there, I’m not saying it would be better to have Heidelberg than APIA, I’m saying the league would be better off with all the current clubs plus Heidelberg, plus knights. I want APIA to be in the league
The comparison between APIA and Heidelberg wasn’t meant as an insult, both are historic valuable clubs. I just meant APIA Leichhardt is to Marconi in the Italian community in Sydney what Heidelberg is to South Melbourne with the greeks in Melbourne.
