Carbon copy take by Ryan from a corner and then a good punch on a tricky cross. Game changing now as Lens start to submit a bit.

Golden chance for Marseille and what looks like Ryan beaten but the replay shows he's gotten a good amount of glove on it and it rockets against the bar.

Irankunda had an eventful first half

Nice well weighted through ball but stops his run so can't make himself an option (I criticised his off the ball movement last week. This is more of what I mean)

He won a header off a corner and it went just wide. At bayern it was incredible how many aerial chances he gets for a short guy. A couple of years from now his aerial threat will be a real asset once his headers get more accurate

He then won a pen, could've been two pens. After the pen was converted he fetched the ball from the net and got mugged by several of the opposition. For some reason he got the yellow. To his credit he didn't blow up like he used to. The pen was after a great 1 2 around through set defence

Then he was unlucky to not get an assist on the counter

Mat ryan before this game has faced 7.9 xgot but conceded 7. This game he has saved 1.1 xgot

So far he has saved his team 2 goals. His shot stopping has been a real standout this year

I mean, was right at Ryan but point blank volley on edge of 6 yard box at absolute rocket speed and Ryan parries it over. The adjustment of his feet shows work was needed to be done.

What another save a minute later! Marseille break and shoot to Ryan's right and he's basically saved like that generic video game one hand dive to the side.

Shades of that Copenhagen Trabzonspor game tonight. It'd be cruel to concede.

For me I look at keepers conceding being a bit like a tennis player. The opponent is just going to put it where you can't get to it. Human fixation on loss means keepers cop so much more for conceding whereas the missed gains by strikers in equivalent situations is brushed off as they'll get another chance.

Looking at the xgot it looks like mat ryan made a World class save 9 minutes in against a headed chance

Alternatively lens can land the suckered punch and take all 3 points

Looking at his season with alkmaar he saved 4.5 goals. Langerak, by contrast, concede more goals last season than the xgot he faced

Crazy that people don't rate mat Ryan's shot stopping
It's all selective memory. While not in some of our biggest games, Ryan has had plenty of solid stops. Japan 2016, Hungary away 1 on 1, Saudi away last, Palestine. It sucks to see a keeper get beaten but I think there's an expectation they have some kind of forcefield across the entire net. They're not always going to get to it.

You look at Martinez and he concedes a lot himself. Reachable at times but just not the right stretch. Neuer has made a career behind great defences but is often made to look a fool when beaten.

He will probably be motm this game

And now he just collects a dipping cross amongst a sea of players. Obviously his best performance in France and easily one of his top 10 tonight. I think his best was Trabzonspor (away?). There'd be some for Brighton and Australia and definitely at AZ.

Full time. Lens win. Ryan rated 8.5 and MOM.

Looks like Souttar visited Sheffield United today and was presented on the pitch briefly. Either a thanks or farewell. Amazing how he's been treated by his loan club only for his parent club to have been really shit.
