That's concerning. Hasn't been in a match day squad for ages now and then Emery brings a youngster in ahead of him.
Gauci and Irankunda are important to the national team so being an apprentice isn't right at the moment. They're just a number to these big clubs. Loans are a must and considering permanent moves where they'll always play is important.

Triantis is really growing into that CDM role. I didn't watch the game, but his Fotmob stats are very impressive. Could be the next Milligan for us
His versatility should get him in. Nice to have him so then we can pick one extra attacker. I think Rowles won't be featuring much if at all for Australia from now.

Rowles is a strange one. He's been pretty good for the NT defensively. Awful on the ball though. I think he still has a role for when we want a speedier CB.

I agree with the idea Triantis offers us versatility and the potential to take another attacker. He's stuck behind alot of good CDMs and CBs though. Very unlucky.

The Hearts fans have taken a long while to appreciate Rowles but it seems they all regard him as one of the first picked now.

He's definitely behind Souttar and Burgess, and definitely behind Circati when available, but he'd still be number four (or three while any of those are injured.

Triantis is the coming man but his best position is probably #6. Can definitely dae a joab at CB though.

If we want a CDM who can score a goal and be a physical beast Triantis is the guy. I reckon he'd wreck some Asian opposition. He offers a different profile and is intriguing.

Triantis at 6 and Souttar and Burgess behind is very tall though and a touch slower than you'd want. That's why we may not see it.

Triantis isn't slow. Put him next to Balard (who is quick) and you'd have no pace issues. Mind you, Balard next to Robertson is what I really want to see.

I like Rowles. I just think if Burgess, Souttar, Geria and Triantis get picked he may be on the outer. Yet Rowles is definitely ahead of Degenek, Deng and Stensness. Circati is way off for now but a definite for 2026. Both Edinburgh club fans have been mentioned here of late. We must remember that absolute delusional they're under. One week Rowles is the worst players ever and the next he's Maldini levels

I still find it crazy how Rowles can look off the pace in SPL games but is solid as a rock for Australia. Only issue I can remember is mistiming the jump against Uzbekistan. Otherwise he's very calm and good in the tackle. The LCB role at Hearts didn't help. He's much more comfortable in a back 4.

Hearts fans don't have a clue. Neither do Hibs or anyone else in Scottish fitba...

Their whole existence cascades from joy to despair every few minutes and Australians, in particular, inspire their contempt.

Scotland rated 45 - Australia 26... wonder what the problem is?

A short technical cb in the spfl what could go wrong :D

If you look at how Popovic has structured his squads he takes 2 players for each position. Because he plays 3 CBs and a back 5 that's 6 CBs and 10 defenders. I find that totally nuts but it's what he's done.

If he see's Triantis as a CB he should feature in squads soon. If he's seen as a CDM he may struggle. That's my read of it anyway.

Yeah the overloading on defenders is frustrating. It leaves our midfield spent for stamina and creativity. An extra mid and striker wouldn't go astray.

I get what he is doing but I wish we did what arnie did and have extras in problem positions to get a small boost from competition in the squad

I'm thinking more passing and speed of thought. The Barhain or Saudi game at the end of Arnies tenure was woeful. It's soured my view of his technical capabilities.
Yeah he slowed down. We'd certainly expect more of him given the experience he'd built. From the low base he looked very tidy against Peru and at the WC. Beginner's luck perhaps.
