Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Do Randers have an aussie in charge or something :ROFLMAO:
I think certain teams in Europe have identified Australian players as good quality comparitive to their value and targeted them. Randers, Viking, Hibs, Hearts and Portsmouth are the teams that spring to mind. And the MLS as a league seems to be targeting Aussies for the same reason.

I certainly think for the Socceroo's it's a pure numbers game the more quality players we produce at the A-league level who flow to the continent and get a go in the EFL, Championship, Bundesliga 2, Serie B and get promoted with their club the better.

Look at Aaron Mooy had to get prompted but once there proved he was more than worthy - maybe I'm biased but he was good enough for a team a level or 2 above Hudders as well.

I’d love to see Italiano given a go at RB over the next year or so. He seems to be equivalent to Bos but right sided. He can also play on the left as well. He’s been making quiet progress over the last few seasons and seems to have matured a lot as a player. He was an attacker when younger, so I expect his technique will be better than Miller’s when pushing forward. Hopefully, his team finish the season strongly and he can have another solid season in Austria.

He's going to need another full season in Austria. I still find him over hyped. Perhaps the Olyroos armband on occasion weighed him down? I just remember many underwhelming performances for the U23 and felt he wasn't going to make it. Talbot is someone comparatively worse though.

Good luck to him. It's that wonderkid tag that is hard to shake. In hindsight he shouldn't have gone to Gladbach. 5 A League seasons and he's only 22.

I agree with you. He still does seem a bit raw and needs to become more consistent playing in a top division against men etc. I think he’s only really started to shake the wonderkid tag, but I think once he becomes his own player, he’ll have a role to play for the Socceroos moving forward.

That's the bit of info I overlooked, playing against men. While German U23 isn't strictly age limited, it's a 4th tier and it's dross for when you've got to get yourself developed. German Liga 3 is totally overlooked and I think it's a great place when young. 20 teams unlike the 18 in the top 2 Leagues.
