It's 5 and again shows the benefit of shooting to test an AFC keeper who just parries it into our path.

Ugh, H2H tiebreak so the benefits to this game is limited.

I'm a bit annoyed we conceded but been really good otherwise hopefully musa or jovanovic can get a hat trick

Makes sense to play all games in 1 city. The games are on some training stadiums. I wonder how capacity is? New Syria flag on the wiki too.

Toure showed he's ready for the Socceroos in my opinion, Jovanovic and Bennie are pretty close too.

Okon's kid looks the goods as a 6.

Have to say I wasn't as impressed as I hoped to be.

We had a fair bit of luck with their lousy shooting and bottled out of a lot of challenges. Any other team that presses us as hard but has better finishing will trouble us.

Some poor options taken up front in the last 20 also.

Some of the early Kyrgyzstan chances go in for other teams in our group. Job done today but the next 2 games are essentially 2 finals. One hopes Kyrgyzstan will dent the other 2 teams.

For me Bennie was the clear standout in that match. Just a complete performance in both attack and defence.

The midfield looked fantastic as well, particularly Frans Deli when he came on. Strong in the tackle and a class first touch. Looks like quite a player.

I was actually pretty disappointed by both Toure and Jovanovic in the end. Yes they both scored doubles, but should have really both scored 4-5 goals each.

Also a shoutout for Steven Hall who looked really assured and made a couple of great saves.

Something really cool about how Bennie took his goal. Oozes confidence.

just watched the replay
it's not often you win 5-1 and leave with mixed feelings, but there is a lot of improvement to go

bottled chances, silly turnovers and a silly penalty, walking players onside, not getting onside quick enough in attack, not watching the near post, not covering the pullback with mids tracking back

lots to fix

Mixed feelings on Toure - he should have had 4 at least. Lazy to get back onside. Bennie has improved so much since he left PG. I can honestly see him replacing Millar at RB in the next 24 hrs. The mid-field was dominant and the subs were brought in at the right time. I feel that Kyrgyz were the right team to play - first competitive match and was a decent training run. I just hope that they don't get complacent.

Mixed feelings about those highlights. Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the game but in those highlights it looks like we played quite selfishly and skipped the obvious ball or option on a number of occasions.

Won't be able to get the same scrappy goals and missed chances against china and Qatar.

Bennie reminds me of Emerton. Powerful athlete but has a sound technique. I wonder if he has the same aerobic capacity as Emerton did.
