I'm already not looking forward having to pay that high cost that kicks in from Jan 1 - its such a rip off.
I could cope paying Optus 23.99 a/m but near on double is a rort.
TSF at times on threads has mentioned buying a certain black box is pirate you can view almost everything/any league played in the world, I'm normally not that type but coincidence last weekend my son eldest mates talked about it and know from where, I've actioned the son look into it - think I'll be ready upon the price hike and move on save a good buck.

Agree zim, hope the pre/HT/post game commentry is same as with Optus.

I don't intend on continuing the deal after January. Can't watch a movie without it buffering every 20 minutes. Today's game started buffering during the pens and the pixels went away. Don't have any of these issues with my other services.

You could perhaps try it with an apple tv4 streaming box. I been using atv4 for years and it's been pretty much flawless in terms of streaming quality. Stan is as good as Optus was and even BeIN Sports looks okay on an apple tv box.

They usually retail at around the $200 but sometimes Officeworks have them on special.

My nephew has been using a 3rd gen google chromecast and says it is very reliable too. Maybe around the $120 mark....

Later that day, fans can enjoy the first Saturday night blockbuster of the season as Aston Villa face Newcastle – a clash between two clubs riding high after impressive European campaigns. Coverage on Stan Sport begins from 9:00pm AEST, hosted in studio by Adam Peacock alongside Premier League & Socceroos legend Mark Bosnich and former Socceroos captain Craig Foster joined by Mark Pougatch live from Villa Park.

I was hoping that they would continue with the normal EPL pre/post game shows....

Craig Foster used to constantly snear at the EPL in his SBS days....

Is that panel essentially The World Game (if Adam Peacock was a Hungarian charisma magnet)?

So slight update according to the Stan Sport app.

Stan are broadcasting both the UK based Premier League pre game show which will start at 20:30 AEST and the Australian - Peacock, Bozza and Fozza version which will start separately at 21:00 AEST and it will be broadcast simultaneously on Ch9.

I've got a Chromecast, might try that out and see how it goes. Shouldn't be too much of a difference though with the inbuilt app for the TV.

Glad they are keeping the EPL panels. Can't stand Bozza. Having that is an instant downgrade for me.

Nice to see EPL on 9 but this is just a promotional taster, isn't it? It'll all be on Stan after.

Bloody streaming companies making the general package mandatory. Shoot me. They need to do it to justify their film and series deals. Yet they'd have even more customers by meeting in the middle for just the sport package.

Funny I can’t stand Fozza much - snidey smug punk for me - as mentioned he did used to sneer at EPL now being paid watch him gloat the DH.
Bozza is silly many a time but I don’t mind having a laugh at him during his silly comments But at least he did play at that level.

Wouldn't be surprised if they kept the regular Saturday night early game (whichever weeks they occur) on 9 (outside of NRL Finals weeks) if the ratings are good.
