Australian transfers 25-26 Summer

800K feels underwhelming but for context Milanovic had one year left on he’s contract so it’s better to get transfer fee now before he goes on a free the following season.

He must be missing something in his analysis because Milanovic sure is an effective scorer for someone he reckons is no good.

I'm not down on Scotland the league like most but I'm not sure its the best move for Milanovic's playing type and qualities. Like Arzani and Tilio's moves. Aberdeen is a pretty strong team in that league which is good.

That's just a player who isn't afraid to take shots. That's a good quality for a forward imo. I get frustrated by forwards who don't take responsibility for scoring and who wait for gilt edged chances only.

Scouting can be subjective

Then again the whole game has a random element to it

Last game of the season and milanovic takes a low xg shot with something big on the line

If it goes in, then that's what makes the player special

If it misses than sack the recruitment team he was a failed experiment and just too selfish a player with rocks in his head to shoot rather than pass
 
I'm curious about Caleb's comments that our goal keepers are a bit sub par.

In the a league -24.1 goals have been prevented by our best 13 keepers as measured by goals - xgot

In the SPFL +1.3 goals have been prevented (after 9 more rounds which would make the discrepancy slightly bigger)
In Austria 31.9 goals prevented
In Denmark -3.2 goals prevented
In the netherlands +13.3

There does seem to be some support for that....Mind you he is going to one of the weakest leagues in terms of keeping quality so it might suit him (though not as much as denmark apparently!)
 
Milanovic to Europe= good.
To Scotland= a little less good.

You just hope the style doesn't kill what is a very good nose for goal. Maybe he'll have a Boyle style effect.

Does that put Toure's 7 goals into perspective?

I wonder what it says about Izzo also. Je seems to be one of the better keepers in that league just going off how many MOTM performances he seems to get.

MLS is quite decent these days and they compete in the Concacaf Champions Cup. They're still trying to get into the Copa Libertadores but keep getting denied.
 
What is it with western sydney and missed talent ID, Volpato from same area. Are these talents just stuck in the NPL till someone actually gives them a proper run of games?

He has Mooy level numbers. I think Aberdeen is a good move, their coach has been great.
 
Also let’s hope he doesn’t get injured early on, anytime a player moves into the euro leagues they often get injured.

I think it’s a factor of having less games, and less intensity played over the summer months which this needs to change as clubs will chase bigger transfer fees now.
 
I was curious if Segecic had the same flaw as milanovic of just shooting a lot of low percentage shots away until one of them comes off. Looks like actually he doesn't. His npxg per shot is right in the middle of the pack suggesting he is willing to try his hand, but better at linking up with teammates when there is a better opportunity. Pretty good defensive stats too. I wouldn't surprised if he could go straight to a mid table eredivisie club
