Australian transfers 25-26 Summer

Do we think if he starts and scores 10 goals and he probably goes to a world cup? He is already 30, hopefully he has a few more years playing at the same quality as last season and it wasn't a one off peak.

Santa Clara appear to have been generally been a top half finishing team. So up a division and to a bigger club. Another guy making a big jump.
Barely heard of him until recently.

Yeah definitely should start if he is a regular in portrugal

Waddingham could challenge him mind u if he is a regular for pompey and improves quickly enough

Toure too of course
Carter is a bit of an odd case study, big year, all of a sudden going to be playing at a much higher level. Somewhat like Burgess. Not really on the radar playing league 2. Back to back unexpected promotions and he is playing Premier League within 12 months.

I think KBos' intensity is fine. But he needs to bulk up or improve his balance because he gets pushed off the ball rather easily. Also some of his decision making can be really poor but that will need to be coached out of him.
He is still very young. His decision-making should improve quite quickly with greater experience.

Agree he has enough intensity in his game.

It's going to be fun to watch the AA forwards this season leading into the world cup. There are a few overseas now so I think there is the chance for some bolters.

Carter (Santa Clara), Waddingham and Segecic ? (Pompey), K Yengi, Milanovic (Aberdeen), Stama (Motherwell), Arzani (Ferencvarosi), Toure and Toure (Randers), D'Agostino (Viking), Irankunda, T Yengi (wherever he ends up), Drew, Botic mooted for an overseas move.

Theres a lot of room for someone to have a big season and jump some players.

My crystal ball tells me.... K Yengi, Waddingham, Toure for the number 9.

As for T Yengi Livingston have signed two number 9's, is destined for bit part minutes on the wing and needs to get out (whether national team quality or not)

Someone like Carter has an eye for goal and would just need a half chance to hit it. We need to be greedy in front of goal. Sick of the constant passing or hesitation. Metcalfe's goal was a good example.

Mo Toure is the best prospect and most clinical. I still feel Iredale has a very strong claim with his scorer instinct, speed and intelligence. K2 level aside.... That Yazbek assist and goal was hopefully to be the start of something but it wasn't to be and Iredale won't get recalled unless he goes to a higher league.

Kudos to Duke against Saudi and Japan but again the issue is the list above are still held at bay and we don't know who can fit into the system.

Carter is an interesting one. Done very well in Portugal and congrats to him. If he becomes a regular for Santa Clata will be hard to leave out. For me it depends on whether Popa intends to sit deep and consequently would prefer pacy forwards. I'm not sure but I think most of the other names suggested are quicker than him.

Brisbane have also been linked with James McGarry who apparently has an Australian passport. Good signing I think.

Talk about potential bolter's for the World Cup squad, Anthony Carter could easily fit into this category after this move.

The Portuguese league is one of the strongest leagues outside of the top 5 contingent, if he finds the back of the net at this level I would not against him being part of the national team.

We need competitive games before the WC to figure it out.

Toures the best and should start.

The others have a great opportunity if they show their form.

Duke, I still think has something to offer with his aerial and pressing strengths. He's different to our other strikers.

I hope we progress past him though.

I think the striker position still remains Duke's, as he is still pretty much the incumbent, unless someone can force him out. I am hopeful about Toure and have some cautious optimism about Carter and Waddingham. But they all need starts, goals and regular good performances. Toure and Carter to back up good 24/25 seasons, Waddingham to take the next step.

People hate on Duke, and I would love someone to supplant him. But whoever it is needs to be able to compensate for the loss of his OOP work elsewhere on the pitch. Despite being a striker, Duke hasn't made it this far in his career because of his goal scoring, it's his defensive work and work rate which are the reason he is a professional footballer at all.

Of all the overseas Aussies, I am most excited to see Waddingham and Carter this season because they are at a higher level than the other potentials and up front is such a glaring gap in the line up. If we get one of them making the grade and scoring goals it will be a good step.
