He's not short of money given all the years of decent deals. I'd prefer a place where he's kept on his toes and shot at more regularly. Maybe Saudi can provide it but a Championship club would be great.

There is plenty of good football in the German 3rd tier. The benefit is 20 clubs so a lot of football available. The A League is better but slows down as there aren't as many matches.

some were in the 4th to be fair

but yes, it seems player develop quicker in the a league than in the 3rd division or below in germany (as opposed to the 2nd tier of the netherlands which does seem to improve players)

No that's the 4th tier which is an amateur level with a lot of U23. German 3rd tier is ever-growing and would be good for players like Garang. Plenty of football available with a number of well supported clubs. Better infrastructure than 2nd tiers in level 2 leagues.

I find the Dutch 2nd tier hit and miss. I guess as Volendamm were terrible they never really were a first tier side anyway. Main thing is playing a lot. Can't stand our developing players on the pine.

Of all the oil leagues, the Saudi league is now on a much higher level than Qatar/UAE/Kuwait etc.

Based on their ACL performances you’d put the quality of the Saudi league probably on par with the K-League i.e. a higher level than the A-Legue, but obviously not J.League level.

He can definitely aim higher, however it wouldn’t be the worst move in the world tbh, and being located in Asia would be beneficial too for Socceroos travel.

As mentioned, as a GK he’d be facing world-class strikers almost every week, as most of the marquees in Saudi are attacking players.
 
People want Maty to slug it out in the CHP? Where's the next gen? What is going on with Gauci? 7 games in 2 years and he's 24. Time to get out of England. Such a waste. Could he get a run in a Bundesliga 2 team?

I notice that Muslera is leaving Gala, joining Estudiantes. Could Maty be his replacement at Gala? I think they would aim higher but maybe if they can get him cheaply. Other options might be somewhere in Switzerland or Austria such as Basel. And I always think he could get a gig in Japan or MLS if all else fail in Europe, again subject to the transfer fee being acceptable.

Gauci's move to Villa a bit silly but the loan was ruined by injury. He really had to go on loan immediately. He'd be fine at many Bundesliga 2 clubs.

Coach not liking you
Team is shite
Can't adjust to the country
