How fantastic to see young uncapped Aussies (all 23yo or younger) in the top 4 positions in the A League scoring charts!! I'm quite sure we've never seen Aussies in each of the top 4 spots, let alone young uncapped talent. Which one do you most want to see in a Socceroos jersey, and who Popovic should be calling up?

Curious if the nsl has a precedent for this?

Segecic wins my vote because his scoring rate is more impressive for a non striker and he is also younger than milanovic

Segecic for sure. Left sided with goals from midfield. We currently play inverted wide forwards. It's a no brainer with McGree flaky (form/fitness) and Goodwin getting on + more suited with width than inverted.

I want to see Botic and Goodwin in squads though with sub appearances.

We need to use our squad depth to transition the team. This can be careful and considered but we need to see it imo.

For me it's Adrian Segecic, he's doing well like the others on the list but the key part here is he is the youngest.

For contrast what Irankunda did he was younger than Segecic but both are doing similar numbers in terms of G/A, we got some very bright talents for the future.

We just to go overcome this stigma that national team coaches have with these young players when they think they are not ready for this level which clearly they are ready.
Whilst some of the players selected as much as they have good players have a small window left at international level so the question is when these young guys are ready to step up but with coaches like Popa in charge and before that in Arnie im not so sure if they will be given a go due to this stigma that's around the national team which is frustrating.

By stigma I mean this mantra that these young players have to earn the jersey or whatever they mean, which is daft and belongs in the 19th century.

We can also add the likes of Eli Adams, Clayton Taylor and now recently Jaylon Pearman who continue to impress every time they play for their clubs.

Our best prospect is a 20 year old who can't get a start ahead of a 32 year old Englishman who played his entire career in the Championship and League One? lol ok then... and he's ready for socceroos you say? Can he start a couple of games first?

Pearman is at least starting and he's way younger.

Yeah, those Newcastle boys were impressive on the weekend. And in earlier matches. Danny Townsend might have inadvertently done Aus football a favour through his enormous waste. The resultant belt tightening giving young Aussies playing time under normal circumstances they wouldn't have seen. And quite a few have grabbed that opportunity with both hands. Some of the football this season has been superb, and the techniques outstanding. If the league continues to improve, I would hope Aussie players be more selective about accepting overseas offers and indeed hopefully will attract better offers. Then reap the dual benefit of transfer money in and opening up positions to bring other young talent through.

This poll could be expanded a bit too. Jovanovic. Kikianis. Two worth a thought off the top of my head.
Yeah, was more thinking about the guys at the top of the scoring charts, but yup, absolutely, there's other guys that have a shout as far as best young Aussie A League talent.

Yup, completely agree (FYI - Archie Goodwin is actually a few months younger than Segecic).

Would be great to see all these guys together for the All Stars. But that would require that they don't make the GF... could still happen.

Joe Lolley doesn’t deserve to start for Sydney in he’s current form.
