Never thought I'd see the day when an American President licks the boots of a Russian dictator. Reagan would be rolling in his grave.

Never thought I'd see the day when an American President licks the boots of a Russian dictator. Reagan would be rolling in his grave.

The sad thing is, a few decades ago, President Clinton coerced Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for the U.S. promise to defend Ukraine against Russia. Now, when it comes to the crunch, President Trump has realised it would be too high price to pay to defend Ukraine - both in $cost of weapons and lives - and so Trump is taking the hard-nosed business man approach by cutting the U.S.'s losses and settling for peace. This doesn't prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine later perhaps in a few decades time. Trump's approach seems a short term solution aimed at saving money and lives.

Playing out this same scenario if/when China attacks Taiwan, if the U.S. takes the same "pragmatic" approach, it would mean the U.S. shifting all critical manufacturing (such as semi conductors) back to the U.S. And then, when the U.S. doesn't need Taiwan anymore - to take the same businessman's approach in not defending Taiwan.

Taiwan would be even harden to defend than Ukraine. There's no land connection to bring in supplies of weapons and ammunition, as there is in bringing supplies in from Poland into Ukraine. It'd be harder to supply Taiwan by sea if China surrounds the island in a naval blockade. Asia doesn't have the same coalition of western-aligned nations as in NATO over in Europe. It'd be the U.S. mostly alone against China. (Imagine what help Australia would be, particularly Australia's reticence to take military action against its biggest trading partner). Also, the U.S. aircraft carriers would be vulnerable to China's island bases in the Spratly Islands that have been turned into un-sinkable aircraft carrier bases.

I can't see this working out well for the freedom loving nations, and it all ties into the End Times scenario of the last book in the Bible, the Book of Revelation, and Jesus prophecies of the End Times (Matt 28:3-8, 29-31):

"... the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. ..."

"... Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

Facts or fiction?

Mr Trump’s post was riddled with inaccuracies.

For example, his claim that the United States has spent $US350 billion on aid for Ukraine. America’s Congressional Research Service published a breakdown of the nation’s contributions last month and put the tally at $US175 billion.

Clearly Mr Trump’s assertion that America has spent “$200 billion more” than Europe on Ukraine cannot possibly be true, given it hasn’t spent $200 billion at all. To address that claim anyway: the US has given more than any single European nation, yes, but significantly less than Europe as a whole. You can read a recent breakdown here.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Mr Trump calling Mr Zelenskyy "a dictator without elections" was "false and dangerous", German newspaper Spiegel reported.

"It is simply wrong and dangerous to deny President Zelenskyy his democratic legitimacy," Mr Scholz said.

Yesterday, Mr Trump blamed Ukraine for starting the war, and over the past week he has referenced Mr Zelenskyy's polling performance several times and his belief there was a need for an election.

Former UK prime minister Boris Johnson offered a firm response, saying: "Of course a country undergoing a violent invasion should not be staging elections.

"There was no general election in the UK from 1935 to 1945," he said.

"Of course Zelenskyy's ratings are not 4 per cent. They are actually about the same as Trump's.

And today's statement comes after Mr Trump falsely claimed Ukraine started the war.

Mr Johnson said this: "Of course Ukraine didn't start the war. You might as well say that America attacked Japan at Pearl Harbor."

All of this of course is a Loopy wet dream. Putin can't believe his luck. All the Russian fan bois and lickspittles have got raging hard-ons.

Even Medvedev, the former President said “If you’d told me just three months ago that these were the words of the US President, I would have laughed out loud,” said Medvedev.

Clearly Trump is still pissed and being stung by the imbroglio When he offered a quid pro quo to Zelensky the first time around.

Credit where credit is due to Spud Dutton.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has called out Donald Trump for making inflammatory and misleading statements about Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a striking contrast to senior Albanese government ministers’ reluctance to directly criticise the US president.

The Australian-Ukrainian community has pleaded with the government to speak out more strongly in defence of Ukraine after Trump called Zelensky a “dictator without elections” and claimed the war was Ukraine’s fault, despite Russia invading its smaller neighbour in 2022.

“Australia should stand strong and proud with the people of Ukraine. It’s a democracy, and this is a fight for civilisation. Vladimir Putin is a murderous dictator, and we shouldn’t be giving him an inch,” he said.

Former prime minister Tony Abbott, now a director of Fox Corp, said Trump was “living in fantasy land” over Ukraine, and that the nation needed NATO membership or troops on the ground as a condition of any ceasefire.

Biden was the one who offered a quid pro quo

imagine being this naïve

you really shouldn't comment on matters you have NFI about, this entire topic is above your pay grade

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman testified Tuesday that he believed President Trump blocked military aid to Ukraine in an attempt to force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to publicly announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden’s family, according to CNN.
