Does Sermanni stay on as head coach for 2025 and beyond?

It’s Interesting looking at the Matildas squad, there is only one player each from SA and Victoria, and none from WA. The rest of the squad are all from NSW and QLD.
 
Semi controversial take but if we're going to go local, I'd be looking at Sydney FC's Ante Juric. The bloke was the Matildas assistant so knows the team well and has a pretty good record at club level.

No thanks. This season Juric’s Sydney FC are last on the table.

That doesn't guarantee success. He would have also been assistant during a period that the players spoke out about if I'm not mistaken.

Bringing him back into the team would not go down well in that case.

As for Wiegmann, I can't imagine England would let her go that easy. If the FA are pursuing her, it would only be because someone has reached out to the FA that she is interested.

I'd be surprised if she doesn't want to defend her Euros title.

This tournament has been a shambles for the Tillies. Everything we have been warning about is happening. Other teams are catching up to us and we are staying very stagnant. The hunt for a coach cannot be taking this long. Also, I spoke of Gorry being prone to a mistake, and she sure as heck delivered.

The stories I've heard about Weigman is she will stay with England until the Euros then assess what she wants to after that.

So if we do get her she won't be coming until then so we'd have Sermanni stay in the interim role until then.

This would be great if it happens, it’s long been suspected that FA have wanted Joe as the next Matildas coach.
There’s obviously a few things standing in the way but hopefully he comes with Lyon’s blessing at the end of the season.
