Multi functionally and i was sold at the Golf Course maps lol
hehe I hear you and who says walking par72 course's isn't fitness doing 6/7k's lol.....
Once you have loaded your golf details by each your club mtrs you can just glance at the garmin and posts up suggested club for the distance by each shot.
Then you just consider wind direction and think yer nah I go 1 up or down club.
Great golf app infact the best imo.
You can glance at your V02 and many other heath reading checks, sleep patterns incl weather etcetc.....

Just be aware that this watch is being phased out.
Whats replacing it?

Im waiting on a supplier to get back to me, however I'm looking at 40-50% off that epix pro garmin watch. Can't complain with that.

Even though phasing out and at the deal you can get 40/50 off way worth it period on the savings and will do all you need for as long as you need till your ready to update.
People still using 4/5+ yr old garmins happily serving their needs.

I have a mate who plays a lot of golf. His doctor has told him golf doesn't equate to fitness. However, if one walks all those steps on a golf course, that is a decent number of steps accrued.

You must be very fit from surfing, LFC.

Does jogging bore you? Try reffing. Average 9kms for senior men's games.

Great way to keep fit and get paid.

I also did it as rehab for my ACL surgery which was great. All the same movements of football, stop starts, changes of direction etc, without any of the contact.

If you can handle the grief it might be something to consider.

Brilliant idea, Muz!

It is best to start refereeing kids' games. The major problem can be deviant parents. It is a really good way to get fit, and far more interesting than jogging. Refereeing is a good way to stay engaged with the game and one is performing a community service.

If one doesn't want to coach, refereeing is an option. Less preparation than coaching too.

Sean Collins, RIP, a former Tas Football Aus CEO, kept refereeing as CEO! He was a good ref too.

Did you really mean to use the word “deviant” when referring to parents? I know some parents can go over the top at junior football (and other sport) matches, but to label them as deviant???

I might be 68, but fitness is a big part of my life. I post on another forum where there are plenty of serious weight trainers.

Not sure apart from TSF with his serious kickboxing training for comps, that we are that serious here?

I've learned a massive amount from Ex Physios over the 7 years - mainly what I've been doing wrong for the previous 45 years!

I train in 3 different settings, because I don't feel like I can do surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, cycling anymore to cross train - either too dangerous, too much equipment or seem to have lost the skill, or the geriatric body struggles.

Probably the wrong word. Some refs have been assaulted occasionally at kids' games though. I've never had too many issues. One of the worst parents of one of the kids I had as a coach for sideline comments, I induced to referee. He was an excellent ref too! Worst case scenario, in young kids' games, each coach refs a half. I encouraged him to ref whole games. Everyone was happy!

Most parents are just appreciative that others coach or referee.

Anyone ever taken BPC 157?
Had to google that.

No sups here. Not a fan of bro science. When I intend running for more than 60 minutes I carry an electrolyte drink and salt tablets. Recovery is just good protein rich foods.

Deviant, lol.

Gave a coach a face to face mouthful of home truths during an U10's match last weekend for unmercifully bellowing at the ref (ref was prolly only 13 or 14). The club's sideline officials should have been on to this without my involvement.

Thankfully he STFU in the second half.

Serious question. Are there any electrolyte drinks on the market that don't contain a shedload of sugar?

What's wrong with simple sugars like dextrose, glucose and sucrose?

Easily absorbed and restores glycogen during endurance exercise.

The better stuff can't be found at the supermarket. I buy stuff from these guys; https://aidstation.com.au/

I was reading a paper on how cow's milk could be used as a recovery drink.

Interesting but seems it would bloat alot of people post exercise.

Yeah not a fan of milk per se. A splash in a macchiato is more than enough for me.

But accept it's popular for post run recovery, as is good old Coca Cola to assist in getting peeps to the finish line.

luv maccs but also caps - just depends how I feel but both a great to me.
