Saudi Arabia will be awarded the 2034 final as they are essentially unopposed.
2026 will be Canada, Mexico & USA
2030 will be Spain, Portugal & Morocco.

Some say unopposed. Some say the opposition valued their lives and their families lives.

I watched the ABC doco about the Saudi leader. Threatening guy.
Modernising Saudi, but it's only for money and power. He doesn't really give a crap about women, he just wants to double the work force.
Look at him the wrong way and you'll be cut to pieces by his henchmen.

As bad as he is, what does it say about FIFA? Zero values.

says it all really..... but some just "wanna watch da football"

Indonesia, Australia and NZ should have bid for sure or even just NZ and Aus, We have enough stadiums.

Maybe for a women's world cup, but not good enough for a 48 team Men's world cup surely? 2026 will see 16 x stadiums all with 50K+ capacity....

All of the world cup hosts are terrible choices if you consider ethics, environment, and humanitarian rights.

The three countries creates an issue of environment. The Saudi bid goes against ethics and humanitarian rights. Until fans actively turn away from FIFA, they will keep running their mafia, destroying the game and what it stands for, and nothing will change.

Having fans from 48 x countries (plus the rest) travelling ANYWHERE creates your environmental issue, 3 different countries doesn't change that too much I think.

It does. If let's say your first match is in Uruguay (Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay are hosting matches), then you play your second match in Morocco. The travel distance is much greater. You are creating unnecessary air travel as opposed to having the tournament in one country where you could use train or car. There's going to be an increase in flights over longer distances in that time which creates a bigger carbon footprint. Not to mention the impact of having to transport the teams and their equipment, media, corporates etc etc all those distances.

Two continents might cause a problem but 3 countries such as Spain, Portugal and Morocco would probably include less air travel than say one larger country like Brazil or Russia

You are forgetting the anniversary matches in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco may be close, but it's still more air travel than is necessary as opposed to hosting it in one country. USA, Canada and Mexico is definitely worse than SPM, but yeah. It really shouldn't be about, "eh, it's not that much". We should really be doing everything we can to try and reduce it.

It's like with UEFA. When they introduced a Conference League, they got asked the question about environmental impact from more travel. Their response was, "not out problem, up to the clubs to figure it out". It's piss poor. How many more dramatic weather events do we need.

I'm not - that's why I said 2 continents *Europe and South America) - Morocco just across the Mediteranean. Basically arbitrary lines on a map don't make for longer flights. Longer distances do.

My bad, I missed that "2 continents" at the beginning. I see what you are saying but I would still disagree a bit. Morocco and Spain are not that far, but the need for a flight is created by having it in two different nations. Arbitrary line or not. putting more flights in the air is not ideal.

When Australia put in its greatest world cup showing ever, I had basically nobody in real life to share it with. Despite living in Europe and at the time working in a company full of football lovers (14 different language teams), and despite everyone being bored shitless from years of lockdowns, a lot of people simply refused to watch the Qatar WC, acknowledge it was on, and they don't care what Australia or anyone else did in it. Simply put, the slavery and death to bring them a cup was a deal breaker. I was actually surprised by it. Usually you get the odd SJW making their protest to get some attention, but this was just an across the board indifference.

I say this because we're going to have 2 shit hole countries in 12 years hosting a cup and I compare that to when I was a kid and the unbelievable excitement of it all. Kids in their formative years exposed to 2 cups that people are indifferent to will colour their perceptions of football for their lifetimes.

I think it just goes to show how FIFA really doesn't give two shits about anything that doesn't make them a buck today.

TLDR: which generation of kids was the last to have a 'La Copa de la Vida' World Cup?

I agree to an extent but WC is still special, regardless of the hosts... Kids have already got a flawed perception of fooball... None of them watch full matches anymore, its all tik tok highlights and following players, based on Instagram likes, from club to club around the world...

The almighty dollar has won....

The kids don't see all the other things. They just see Haaland or Mbappe doing signs on insta and showing off, and they follow. None of them are bought up on what it means to support a certain club. So many choose their team just based on Insta and who is a "sigma alpha skibidi rizz ohio". If anything, these world cups probably will appeal to them because of the Insta that will be created.
