Yeah, I get where you are coming from and agree to an extent. I also think there are a lot of podcasts out there. This is why it's important for the podcast to have some value to it.

I think people tend to enjoy listening to podcasts when they are succinct and clear. It may be a 50 minute podcast, but breaking it up into clear segments allows for that short attention span.

I like what the Overlap do with the fan debate podcasts too, and what Fozcast does with taking fans a bit more deeper into the game as opposed to just review of the week's game.
 
Suggestions from someone who is heavily into podcasts; find your 'niche' within the Aussie football sphere I would say (?), podcasts are sort of the big thing so there is heaps of existing podcasts dedicated to Australian football topics atm with varying degrees of quality. Shouldn't really be going for more then an hour tbh. I would love for there to be a non league aligned NPL podcast that hosted by people that aren't trying to use the npl as a launching pad for a football media career.

I sort of disagree... about the "using NPL as a launching pad" that is... I think, for example, the commentators of NPL games on Youtube streams are certainly cutting their teeth on an accessible level of the game and its an ideal way to get noticed and grow the portfolio of work for them....

That's kind of the definition of a launching pad. I think he is saying that the NPL is only invested in when people need to grow their portfolio. Once they do that or get what they want, the NPL gets ignored.

to be honest, not a fan of the npl podcast or many of the npl commentators ... a few good ones in there but to conversational. I do get that they are volunteers though.

Sorry, perhaps I didnt express my point clearly, I think its a GOOD thing that NPL commentating is being used as a launching pad for a career in football media :)

Yes have a work mate of mine who cut his teeth with NPL comms here, alongside a local podcast show (Took last season off due to overseas travel though - unsure if he's doing again next season).

Side note - I hosted a panel show. Once. For uni. If that counts :ROFLMAO: Pretty sure it's on YouTube somewhere

You are either aren't the inimitable, unique Johnny Kasich I know, and are facetiously impersonating him, or, you've degenerated in your moral standards.

I think the Podcast is a great idea for G and G FC, but maybe not the Johnny K/Lupi dream team?
