Lets all laugh at the Saudi League

As mentioned in earlier post I'm in Saudi now, Riyadh.
Apart from the huge infrastructure improvements going ahead I see - tourists are piling in, the place is buzzing with activity.
Football is popular despite we notice some games lacking crowds......
You see people wearing kit shirts.
As mentioned they don't need gate takings I suppose.
I have frequented shi sha bars last 2/3 of nights as they do here, when games are on its packed like a pub to us to watch "live" games.
Last night watched a packed stadium CR7's club Al Nassr vs Al Ittihad - could have got ticks but would have been a 2hr return trip - traffic is hectic here.
Were watching CR7 Benzema, Pereira Kante Fabinho :) Mane :) Octavio La Porte
The game was massive packed/atmosphere hectic game.
Great to watch the underdogs win !
Lot more play acting, replays shows how over reacted players behave - refs throwing yellows out like mad.
Football standard can't knock it was good !

Watched EPL live the other night LFC vs Toons, again packed it was fun viewing but for the draw.
Tonight will be watching my clients club Al Hilal - has Mitrovic, Cancelo, Koulibaly - I'm sure enjoyable again but I'll be watching the Mercyside derby @ pleasurable time of 3.30pm koff before, go you redmen !

been full on football whilst here that has been to great to get the feel got to say.
For all the negative about this league the match's I have watched have been action packed.
Watched the Al Hilal Al Raed game last night and it was end to end stuff, 3-2 to Al Hilal (they are the champs here having won the title like 18times) and in the shi sha bar people are chanting, screaming out its pretty entertaining and you see they luv the game.
The foreign EU imports really add alot to the league.
They are going to improve with these EU players no doubt for the locals.

🤮 🤮

as much as you think so, now that I have seen this league live and despite it being a $$$$ petro league its far above ours (obviously) and at least it has :
The three lowest-placed teams in the Saudi Pro League are relegated to the First Division, in the first division the top two teams are promoted to the Pro League directly, a play-off system to determine the third team to be promoted alongside the two.

I have been watching a doco on netflix they did on the saudi league in view of CR7 and the other imports.
It gives you some pretty good insight, check it out.
It will grow, in the meantime they are improving their Jnr development and untilising these aged care nappy players visiting the Pro Jnr teams and lower Clubs..

No thanks... it's all yours. Nothing about this league or the people behind it has any appeal to me whatsoever as a football fan.. Happy for you and others to enjoy the "content" but not for me.....

again like the Forest issue.
Sure these ogarlords are mugs, its a crying shame but what I do see is inoccent people like us happy and into their Club and the game.
Thats whats it a ll about, unfortunately big business, Kings, white collar crooks don't see life this way, they feed of us.
You either opt in or out I suppose.
By the poverty I see around my travels football brings us pawns together, highs lows, despite us being railroaded by the crooks and worse.

Did you see alot of the "poverty" and "innocent people" in the stands watching football?

Mate, I can't tell that easily how/what they all are and incomes, lots of coloured worker types, from the many close vicinity countries.
I saw tckets start at 65AED, thats A$27 - now you may think oh therefore how much do workers get paid.
That varies as well like anywhere and yep where you work and how treated.
Thats another huge question I couldn't answer but observing and listenning from my business Saudi colleague - he's not the only good person here thats for sure.
He looks after his staff very well and I can see they are happy.
Have met quite a few of my colleague's successful friends - they also do similar.
I went to one business mate and was amazed by a Phillipino bloke who talked highly working for this other bloke.
Then sure you hear negative ones like at the the first hotel I stayed at, a worker said he can't wait to get out.

Na brother, I know you can't.. Ofcourse there are beautiful people in Saudi, just like everywhere in the world. And 100% you do business with them and, knowing you, I bet the lads you deal with are genuine decent people.. This isnt a go at the country OR the people I promise you...

But, you have to admit, a league were a "supreme leader" owns 4 of the clubs and has funded trillions of dollars for whatever aims isnt set up to make money or appeal to people within his own country?

mate agree leadership wise and how they operate.
Yes its stacked their way with all that loot.
Its a whole diff world the more I learn, 3rd time.
We see it from our western eyes naturally.
We are chalk and cheese how they treat thieves/and break laws - yep you do wrong your gonnnne no diff travelling to Bali and an idiot getting involved with drugs you know there is a price to pay, mostly life inprisonment or worse such as.
They caught 3 egyptian fellas smuggling drugs the other week.
Beheaded.
Thats the law.
Crime is obviously low for its damn viscious

The King is about growth - what its in way obviously is collateral damage he/they don't care no doubt.
For the people ? well depends which ? their own, anyone else well good luck, spouse they get some enjoyment but it no matter to them.

Love the sport, but hate how players earn so much and can sometimes spend a whole year doing nothing yet still get paid. The normal person takes one day off sick after a weekend and need to provide proof from a doctor and give up part of your salary.
