Matilda's abroad

is there any actual viewership stats from here of the WSL and other comps/leagues for ratings clarity's sake ?

You could ask why I don't ever get that with the Socceroos but this Matildas's dip and drama has just made me so disinterested. I think it's the lethargy about the manager search and there's still a lack of rejuvenation. Very stale.

Doesn't bode well for us around ten months out from the home Women's Asian Cup.
It would be good to look at up and coming players, but the central contracts for the Matildas restricts the number of players receiving money.
Kyah Simon still included in squads despite career ending injury still gets money from central contract

The UWCL semi final first leg between Arsenal and Lyon is underway. Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord start for Arsenal. Kyra Cooney-Cross on the bench. Ellie Carpenter starts for Lyon and has an assist on Diani's 17th minute goal.

Interesting that kayo is showing uefa women's. A sign of things to come under DAZN ownership?

Cortnee Vine back from sickness for North Carolina Courage, coming on in the 63rd minute of their 1-0 loss to Bay FC in the NWSL. Alanna Kennedy played 90 minutes for Angel City in their 4-0 loss to Gotham FC before being subbed off at the start of second half stoppage time. Kaitlyn Torpey played 46 minutes for Portland Thorns and got a yellow card in their 1-0 Cascadia derby loss to Seattle Reign. No game time for Mackenzie Arnold.

The Spurs v Aston Villa WSL game is underway. Clare Hunt on the bench for Spurs. Hayley Raso and Charlotte Grant not in the matchday squad altogether.

Mackenzie Arnold returned from injury and played the full match in addition to stoppage time between the sticks for Portland Thorns in their 4-1 midweek NWSL win over Gotham FC. Kaitlyn Torpey not in the matchday squad altogether for the Thorns.

People identifying as females/she/her/it are up to 8 times more likely to injure an ACL.

Is it time that we reduce the field size for them/they/those?
Talking about field size, does any other women's sport play on the same field size, same match duration, same rules as the men? I can't immediately think of any.

Cricket no.
Basketball no.
Aussie rules no.
Rugby I don't know.
Tennis no.

I'm not counting events like swimming and running etc. They don't have match durations.

I thought that in cricket, basketball and AFL they did?

But I was thinking the other day, the more enjoyable women sports to watch all have their own modified (size of field, duration etc) version that makes the game more enjoyable to watch, and most likely more enjoyable to play.

But hey... equal this equal that. I will probably get banned for another 6 weeks for even mentioning this.

Basketball I think the 3 point arc is shorter, balls are lighter. AFL quarters are way shorter and balls lighter. Cricket I think the boundary is shorter.

Maybe the only difference between men's and women's in football is the ball weight? Is it a size smaller?
