Matilda’s position in the forum list

Wouldn’t it be more appropriate that the Matilda’s forum was listed first in the Australian football forum list?

The Matilda’s are Australia’s most successful and followed sporting team. They represent this country like no other team can and are the future of this country. They deserve to be respected as such.

Put them on top of the list! Let’s go you Tilly’s!

I agree here. The Matildas are huge....in Australian terms second only to our men's cricket team. I think they'll be bigger than that soon. They're a phenomena, Australians should be so proud of these girls.

It's amazing to see how different the two teams are. The Matildas are one of the best in the world with a lot of players in the best leagues in Europe.

While on the other hand, the Socceroos are awful in comparison? They barely scraped through to knockouts in the last world cup and that was their best performance ever? Their players play in really bad leagues (Farmers leagues I've heard them described as) and no one even knows who they are.

And now, the Matilda's Jersey sales are so much higher than the Socceroos. Given its the same country and the same football authority runs the sport, why are the Socceroos so rubbish in comparison?

The Matildas remain largely successful due to their adherence to KNVB mythology while the Socceroos remain in their ad-hoc ways. We should focus more on the Matildas due to this foundational and uniform approach in the application of the NC.

Back to your original point, the socceroos don't have a statue, just like the matildas don't. You'd know that if you actually thought anything of our, lets be honest, premier football team.

The idea of a statue celebrating the Matildas’ achievements at the home World Cup came from former premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.....

I thought it was an amazingly thoughtful gesture from Annastacia.and a fantastic piece of artwork....

This is a facetious thread - taking the piss.

These guys have arrived en masse from another defunct football forum - Anarchy. It essentially comprised a bunch of right wing malcontents - but not all of them were.

I'd surmise they meet up on Slack, Signal or a FB Messenger group and giggle about all their trolling, in trying to wreck this site. They feel excited by all their new potential unwitting victims to troll and wind up. On their defunct site most hate the Matildas, are also misogynists, and even called them the Lezzoroos, which is highly offensive. The irony of this thread!

On the flipside - if a troll actually stumbles onto a topic with merit and it results in an entertaining discussion, then is their presence entirely worthless?

I think most people have some ability to identify and ignore what they deem total crap and at times engage with amusement.

If the whole first page was taken up by crap threads there would be reason to ban them as spamming - otherwise there is considerable power in the ability to choose to ignore a post without pressing a button.

As a wise old horse once told me, a troll's only power is that granted to them by others.
