Seemed to take it personally the fact that the reaction to jjs interview was negative. I think he thought we were having a go at him

I get he means well and seems a good bloke no different to most of us here, he gets too caught up why some of us are not on the same page from his perspective.
Were here to debate are we not.
It did read he was disappointed but he can't see through the trees that the closed comp is one of the problems holding us back.
We can't have 2 different models working opposite ways - well thats the way I see it.

Yeah i dont recall his ideological stance to be honest so not sure if that played a role.

On my crawford report page, someone seemed annoyed with me for bringing it up rather than writing to promote the game

I do think football in australia can have a culture of us against the world, which means criticism of decisions made up top can be seen as a threat, since if we are arguing amongst ourselves how will we survive against the hostility that comes from without

If I recall well enough his stance is
Use MLS ways of supporter engagement to grow the APL, crowds will come and game will prosper.
His other concerns are of the young ones who only know APLeague, what happens to them IF or the worst happens with that league.
In turn he also advocates one day P/R will come, supports the Championship.
Reduce the infighting for its been going on for 50/70yrs for the future of the game.
Something around these lines so he has good intentions overall.

Yes I think a negative culture against everything has been bred for decades amongst our own invested supporter base.
Governance lack of foresight leadership/unity - ethnic bashing, crawford report, Dutch system, AL, banishment of Clubs, closure of COE, the backward huge step of development, media wars, its created a whirlpool of resistance and utter confusion especially with the younger brigade nowadays.
They are blinded in turn cause's newer issues moving forward.

I won't say we need a Trump type of leader BUT someone who has the respect and leadership qualities to drive a wedge through so much and take control of the Ship and steer it through the storms take no prisoners to see the sunshine and a complete football model that all can aspire to the top by hard work, sound management without road blocks that reward wanting to win from level to level.

That also will grow GG forum into the major football forum in the land :)
